    Bluray Player won't work on my Series X


    Hello!

    I wanted to have a movie night with some friends who brought Bluray movies to watch on the Series X. At first, after putting in the CDs, the Bluray app said it needed an update. Ok, no big deal. But when we clicked on updating, the console disconnected from the monitor ("no signal found") and we had to restart the console. We repeated this process several times (CD in --> Bluray Player needs an update --> disconnect --> restart) it never worked. We also tried different Bluray discs, the player always said it needed an update only to shut down right afterwards.

    So we decided to delete and reinstall the Bluray app completely. After we deleted the app, the store tells me now that the app is already in the queue. The problem is, the queue is empty. I'm stuck now. I can't install the app and i can't delete it. What can i do now? Please help!

    A few months ago it worked, now it doesn't anymore.

    Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

    I'll recommend you do a power cycle to clear the system cache

    - Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

    - Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 2 minutes.

    - Plug the console power cable back in. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on and check if it's all good.

    If that doesn't help, I'll suggest you try doing a factory reset keeping games and apps on your console. This will refresh the console and remove all potential bugs without deleting any game data.

    - Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    - Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    - Select Reset console.

    - Choose Keep Games and Apps

    Once that is done, you'll need to sign into the console using your Microsoft account credentials. If the issue is with your console, that should fix it.

    I agree a lot of the issue's aren't related to the bluray discs, it's the firmware on the bluray drive or the app that needs patching, I had something different happen though, my issues was with X-Men: The Last Stand on bluray, it just give me the error
    message saying the firmware needs updating on the bluray player in order to play the disc, I put it in my ps4 and it worked first time, tried it with two other bluray players and they all played it flawlessly.

    So there must be a lot of firmware/patches required for the drive for certain blurays. I'm sure they will find out what the problem is and hopefully patch the app or address the issues in the next firmware update

    Same issue here bought a bluray disk was so excited to watch it on my Lg C1 using my Xbox series X! 20 minutes into the movie black screen with sound and nothing I do fixes it unless I disable the 24 hz mode which puts the colour down to 8 bit this is absolutely unacceptable why has this not been fixed yet?

    I purchased this console because it had a bluray player now I’m thinking of returning it!
