Bluray drive...AGAIN

Not reading disks. 0x80820002 error. I swear, if I have to send this
[Mod Removed] thing in again I will snap and microsoft will lose another customer. This would be the 5th! Yes, you heard that correct....THE 5TH XBOX I WOULD HAVE TO SEND IN!

Installation problem

you can try deleting permanent storage: settings, all settings, discs and bluray, bluray, permanent storage, clear.

Later install/uninstall bluray app.

Powercycle console and try again.

If issue persist, test disc on other console, if continues game disc is damaged (need to get another disc) but if other consoles install game then your disc drive need repair your console.

Hello,

I have had this issue as well. This occurs when the console does not correctly read the disk. However there is a little trick you can try to solve this. When inserting the disk into the console, simply hold the disk for a second while it tries to pull it
in, then release it. The console should be pulling on your disk while you're holding it, and you don't have to hold it for long. Then let it go in. This will usually make it so that the console reads the disk.

However, this does not work every time, but most of the time it will.

From what I hear from my friends and through the forums this is a common issue. So far this is the best solution that has been come up with. Hopefully this will work for you.

If you have any other issues or questions keep posting on the forums so that Microsoft hears about all of it and they can look into it.

While not an official method of repair, I had this same issue, and found a video on YouTube where its mentioned that the grinding is due to a misaligned gear on the bluray drive...to remedy it, all i had to do was unplug everything, turn the console over
and slap the underside of the bluray drive...this located the gear again and I've had no trouble since

expect to send it in soon to replace the bluray drive. I was in the same situation with the bluray drive being fine for a while, and it being an every now and then problem, but then it became permanent.

It sucks but what can you do?
