Bluray discs not detected

My bluray player has been working great until this morning and now it won't play any discs ! There's no error message but I get a screen saying Blu-ray Disc and a spinning circle that won't stop spinning !

To be honest this console experience has been so so poor I am considering a play station ! From the beginning the Menu has been slow, buggy and it's one problem after the next with this console and my friends feel the same, the list is long but Microsoft
were so out of touch with what gamers actually want and that wouldn't matter too much if the console was awesome but it's a backward step from the Xbox 360 in regards to the sluggish menus and let's be honest the graphics look the same !

Now I think I need a new console and will have to wait for hours upon hours to install every singe game and update for all my games, it's so crap ! What happened to plug and play ? If I wanted this much hassle I would have got a gaming PC !!

Bluray discs not detected

Unfortunately didn't work although some of my Blurays sometimes play. My son is going to take the discs that won't play to try on his mates Xbox one.

Blu ray discs are no longer being detected by my console. The error code I get is 0x8080002. Games and DVD's play fine. Have tried a hard reset, clearing persistent storage and turning off BD live but none of that worked. Is there anything else I can try

Sorry to hear about the disc issue. Just to make sure that we have not missed any troubleshooting steps, I would like you to try a few to see if we can get this issue sorted.

Please give the following steps a try:

• From the home screen press the Start button.
• Select Settings and then select Disc and Blu-ray.
  
• Select Persistent Storage and then select Clear Persistent Storage.
  
• Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
  
• Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
  
• Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console.
  
• Power on your console and try to play a Blu-ray disc.
  

Give the suggested steps a shot and let us know if you are still experiencing an issue playing Blu-ray discs

 

ok, I sent my Console and Kinect which were both faulty back to the Service centre on the 7Th July.

I can not get an update online as to what`s happening with my console. how long does it take to fix an return? I have also tried to get a chat session going for an hour and it wont work either... The ups tracking wont even inform me if its arrived safely
!!

 

the still does it work either and even does that in the games to I insert the original games and make sure are the bluray disc and clean before insert in and the games as well what going on it was fine until all this update started to happen is acting even
worst can some help troubleshoot this problems.

 

its the update that *** up things. blu ray players have to be constantly be updated because the code writers for the discs continually keep changing the read code to combat piracy.

MS does NOT spend the time necessary updating the blu ray codecs and security protocols
