    Hi all,

    I have a strange issue going on between my PC/Xbox controller. After initially pairing, I could turn on the controller and it would connect to my PC's Bluetooth without any issues. This worked fine for about a month, until one day it didn't connect after
    charging off a wall plug (as it always did without issue). I deleted the paired controller, and tried re-pairing with it. It showed up as "Controller" instead of showing up as "Xbox One Controller" like it did in the past. I tried to pair anyway, and it failed,
    after which I never saw that controller appear on the list of Bluetooth devices to connect with. Thinking something is wrong with my Bluetooth dongle, I tried connecting to my laptop and Android phone, both of which instantly discovered and connected to the
    controller. The Bluetooth on my PC works fine with other devices except
    the Xbox controller, and the controller seems to work fine with all other devices
    except my PC. I even got a new Bluetooth dongle, still no dice.

    Things I've tried:

    • Using USB to connect to controller
      • Successful, and fully useable.
    • Use Xbox Accessories app to update the controller via USB
      • This was done on the first day, and worked fine. There are no updates to install.
    • Removing battery, reinstalling it.
    • Connect to other devices via Bluetooth.
      • Successful, still won't connect to PC.
    • Updating Windows
      • After installing updates, the issue did not go away

    It feels like my controller doesn't "want" to connect to my PC, or because of the failed pairing they think they've already paired? I'm not sure. Is there any way to factory reset the Xbox controller, or purge my PC's Bluetooth list? I've deleted all mention
    of controllers from my Device Manager, and even checked hidden devices via the View menu. Nothing. Is this one, specific controller bricked from being used with this one, specific, PC that I happen to use for gaming?

    I really hope the solution isn't a clean install, or a new controller, since it's brand new and clearly the hardware is fully functional.

    Does the Xbox One S console have Bluetooth Capability? I.E Bluetooth Headsets

    There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

    The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

    The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.

    Hi,

    All of those controllers support Bluetooth connectivity, so, as long as your PC has Bluetooth, you can use them via Bluetooth wireless on a PC/laptop. If your device does not have Bluetooth, you'll need an adaptor.

    4N6-00002 is marketed as an Xbox One controller for Windows. This controller also comes with micro USB to standard USB cable.

    Yes, the wireless adapter works and is probably the preferred way to use the controller. Xbox One controllers connected to windows 10 PC's via Bluetooth cause a noticeable performance drop in games. Connect with a wire or the wireless adapter and the performance
    hit is not present. Funny thing is no other Bluetooth controller causes a performance drop in games. It is something specific to the Xbox One controller.

    Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

    Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

    Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

    The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

    Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

    Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

    The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

    Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."
