Bluetooth controllers

Discus and support Bluetooth controllers in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Okay so I was looking on the Microsoft website and it states that any ONE controller with the three dashes next to the connectivity button is Blue...     Bluetooth controllers


    Okay so I was looking on the Microsoft website and it states that any ONE controller with the three dashes next to the connectivity button is Blue Tooth. We have two white consoles from just around Christmass and both have those dashes. Guy at Gamestop insists
    only the S controllers have this feature. So which way is it?

    Hey Giuseppe,

    I'm not sure based on the manufacturer code alone but based on the research I did, that is the standard controller that DOES have Bluetooth. I believe controllers produced since 2017 do have Bluetooth technology.

    link     also has a picture at the top showing the difference between controllers with Bluetooth and those that don't.

    Description for the controllers is as follows:

    "On Bluetooth-supported controllers, the plastic around the Xbox button is part of the face of the controller. On controllers without Bluetooth, the plastic around the Xbox button is part of the top, where the bumpers are."

    Looking at the picture again I do see the difference in shape. Its not the boomerang style and does not have the black plate around the home button. Wouldnt it be easier though just to say S model?..lol.

    After extensive testing with a new Xbox One controller I recently purchased (This model:

    www.xbox.com/.../lunar-white-wireless-controller     ), it seems that I was not able to connect. The Microsoft Support page (

    support.xbox.com/.../connect-xbox-one-controller-to-pc     ) explains with images down the page that certain Xbox controllers have Bluetooth support while others do not. While my controllers does match the one with Support in the image, I have figured that
    only the new Xbox One S controllers have Bluetooth support (Listed in description:

    www.xbox.com/.../xbox-wireless-controller     ), despite the image shown. The best way to connect non-Bluetooth controllers is to use the Windows wireless adapter (

    www.xbox.com/.../windows-wireless-adapter     ) the adapter has benefits over Bluetooth, like being able to use your headsets, or connect multiple controllers, while connection through Bluetooth only allows for one controller at a time.

    I have been testing with the new XB1 S controller (which has blue-tooth) and needed to find out if the official XB360 wireless blue-tooth headset (one with ear-hook) connected via blue-tooth to the new S controllers just with the original XB1 and I tried
    but it doesn't so does anyone have the new S console and have tried this because the S console has blue-tooth???

    The Elite controller does not have Bluetooth connectivity. The "S" controller has Bluetooth.

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are having issue with controller. Here is a

    guide for Bluetooth    . There are pictures that show how to tell if your controller is Bluetooth or not. Not all Xbox controllers are Bluetooth.

    On Bluetooth-supported controllers, the plastic around the Xbox button
     is part of the face of the controller. On controllers without Bluetooth, the plastic around the
    Xbox button  is part of the top, where the bumpers are.

    Xbox Wireless Controller not appearing on Android or Windows

    That model of controller does not support bluetooth use. Any of the models that have the top as a part of the bumper area and are not a formed part of the controller, do not have bluetooth capabilities. The first controllers to support bluetooth were
    the 1708. So anything with that model or higher will support the bluetooth function.

    Thanks for coming to the forums. The only thing that would cause the controllers not to sync is they are not Bluetooth. All Xbox controllers are not Bluetooth. In the
