    Blue ray software not working


    The software quit working 20 minutes ago. I have tried shutting down the software, a hard restart and I uninstalled the software. When I tried to install it again the store said it was unavailable. I tried my landlords xbone and it is doing the same thing.
    MS must be updating the software. Maybe Sony pulled their license?

    Blu ray software not working

    The software quit working at the bottom of the hour. I was half way through The Dead Pool and it went back to the desk top. When I retried the software it said unable to read disc. I tried another disc, a hard restart and uninstalling the software. When
    I tried to reinstall I got this error: Content is unavailable it may be a temporary issue, try checking again later (0x876c0001). I hope that MS is updating the software and it is not Sony being nasty.

    I can play all my hard copy games, so it is not the drive.

    There is a issue with purchasing and downloading items in the store right now. They are working on it and hope to have things up and running again soon

    Blue ray software not working

    I have the same issue. Was watching movies. Went to swap disc and got an error. Tried inserting several times, soft reset, and a hard reset. Finally uninstalled app and was going to re-install and the store can not find it.

    Same thing here......I NEED TO FINISH WATCHING PENNY DREADFUL!! Cmon MS get it together.....it was pretty dumb to have the bluray player be an app anyway.

    Same issue here, seems to be linked to the service outage. Seems daft that blu-ray is connected to live in the first place.

    I just got off a chat with support and they told me Microsoft is aware of the issue, "We are aware of this blue ray issue, as of the moment our team of engineers are currently working on this to make sure that all blue ray disc can run on the console." I
    hope they figure it out soon as it appears to be an encoding issue/software issue with the Xbox One. I bought a new copy of Total Recall also and it will not play nor will my new copy of Firefly series however older blu-rays such as District 9 will play.

    Xbox one x plays 4k and DVD not blue ray

    I did what you said and still no luck. Will play 4k and will play standard dvd formats will not play Blue Ray movies. It is plugged directly in to the wall. I find it very odd that 4k works but Blue Ray doesn't. Would that not elude to a software issue and
    not a hardware issue? I don't know much about dvd players but there is only one eye to read software interpretation of the code is the difference right?

    It can be a bit more complicated that that. If the Blu-Rays are from a different region, they can cause issues on certain devices. Can you try turning down the default resolution for your console and try one of the discs again after
    performing a restart on your console?
