Blue Dragon Unable to Launch Through Back Compat

The teams at Xbox have recently updated Blue Dragon to support Italian language options for users in Italy. This means that some players may see a “Do you own this game or app” error the next time they try to launch the game from both digital and disc-based experiences.



If you are playing the game from a disc and you notice this happening, please close out of the error message and try re-inserting the disc again. This should prompt the console to download the latest version of the game that includes the Italian language options. Once this download completes, you might have two different versions of Blue Dragon installed on your console. KEEP the version that launches with no errors. DELETE the version that results in the “Do you own this game or app” error when launching. This version will no longer work and will take up unnecessary space on your hard drive. All game saves will continue to work for the newly download version of the game so you can pick right back up where you left off!

If you are playing from a digital license, please uninstall the game completely and then reinstall it again. You can always uninstall by performing the following steps:

1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
   
2. Go to My games & apps > See all.
   
3. Locate Blue Dragon in your collection and press the Menu button.
   
4. Select the Uninstall option and then press the A button to uninstall.
   

And then reinstall the game:

1. For digital licenses, press the Xbox button on your controller.
   
2. Go to My games & apps > See all.
   
3. Go to Full Library > All games.
   
4. Locate Blue Dragon and press the A button and then select Install all.
