    Blu ray won’t play on Xbox one s


    I have some blu rays that wont play on the xbox one s i have changed power mode to energy saving and also changed resoultion of xbox, have also cleared persistent storage.

    the disc starts up it gets to where the main menu should come on then kicks me to the home screen the disc works fine on other devices its multiple blu rays and games work fine.

    has anyone come across this or have a fix or anything else i can please try?

    up scale standard blu ray?

    "Ultra HD" Blu-Rays will play in 4K. Standard Blu-Rays will play in 1080p.

    The Xbox One S will only output to the highest resolution offered by the Blu-Ray disc it plays.

    I suppose this design choice was in mind because 4K/UHD-TVs already process and upscale a lower resolution image to "cleanly" use all of the 3840x2160 pixels, so it's not putting unnecessary load on the Xbox One S CPU.

    Xbox One S will play 4K Blu Ray's

    Xbox One X will play Game in 4K if they are Enhanced with 4K Support + 4k Blu Ray support

    They Xbox One X will also Upscale on a 1080p screen so you will see some benefit of the Xbox One X

    it can, it may have region locks for your area but yes the xbox one can play cd, dvd, blu-ray, and if you have the x/s 4k blu ray

    The Xbox One S is fully capable of playing Blu-Ray and DVD movies, especially 4K UHD Blu-Rays. You just have to download the Blu-Ray app: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/apps/bluray-info

    Otherwise, any HDMI-capable device will work through the HDMI-in port on the Xbox One.
