Blu Ray, Settings, Everything not working. Is it because Xbox Live is down?

Hello,

I've never been here before, because, well my Xbox One has been working all along until Kinect had an issue a few days back, but it fixed after a reboot.

Anyway, I have a probably dumb question... If Xbox Live goes down does that mean Xbox One is a brick?

Is that why I can't even watch a movie? - I'm confused, because I don't know why the Blu-ray wouldn't work because of Live...??

I rented a few movies from RedBox (since I couldn't play any games), none will get further then the BluRay screen then it eventually shuts down saying it took to long to do anything. The codes I get are "Invalid" when I type them in the lookup section for
the codes. I can't even get into settings. LoL

If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the help. I assumed basic functions would work regardless of internet connection. But I guess I need to buy a separate blu-ray player? Ouch - at least 360 DVD worked if Live was down.

Sorry don't mean to look like I'm complaining, I'm just confused more than anything.

DVD/Blu Ray Player stuck on loading screen, but with menu sounds.

Ok, check out the Disc & Blu Ray Settings to ensure everything looks ok

Check or uncheck (as needed) Enable BD Live and then Clear Persistant Storage to see if that improves for you.

Can't Connect to Motorola Netopia 2247 Router on Xbox Live

Thanks for all the help. It is set to WPA2-PSK AES. Xbox live was working fine with our AT&T service when we had the AT&T router/modem. Our Blu Ray player works fine but xbox is still acting up. I looked at the settings for the Blu Ray and they appear to
be the same as the xbox settings. Thanks.

Ok, check out the Disc & Blu Ray Settings to ensure everything looks ok

Go in to settings and select blu-ray. There should be and options in there to adjust how the blu-ray discs are played. If nothing else work you can try holding the power button down on the front of the console until it shuts off then unplug it from the outlet
for 30sec then plug back in and power back on and hopefully everything will be working properly again.

It's actually better to calibrate a TV using a Blu-ray player with a HD Calibration Blu-ray disc. In my experience calibrating from a PC can be tricky because you have to verify what video range your PC is outputting and what your TV is set to accept and
work within. Blu-ray simplifies this as everything is in the video range (16-235).
