Blu Ray problems on Xbox One S

Hi, I have an Xbox One S and I am trying to play a regular Blu Ray on it. I can get sound but no picture. It is the same on all Blu Rays I have so not the disk and they still work on my old Xbox One.

Has anyone had this problem and is it an easy fix or will I need to send it back?

movies not working

Snoopy, look around on just this page alone. The XBOX One S is having a lot of problems playing Blu Ray (especially 4k titles). The Blu Ray app appears to be pretty much garbage (rated 2/5 stars).

Does Xbox One S play Blu Ray and DVD?

Is it just Blu Ray or both Blu Ray and DVD for the Xbox One S?

Hello Creggory,

I just need to double check, when you say "get sound but no picture" on your TV, your Xbox is connected (HDMI Out) directly to the TV (HDMI In) with a single HDMI cable? No A/V Receivers or HDMI Switchers in the path? Do you have the same issue when you
play regular DVDs? In the mean time may I suggest checking out "Troubleshooting a blank TV screen or monitor while your Xbox One is on" located at the following URL, support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/tv-or-monitor-screen-is-blank-while-connected . Lets
hope that some of these steps will fix your problem quickly and that there will be no need to send the Xbox back.

Multiple blu-rays. It's an Xbox one s. I'm actually watching the blu-ray that I wanted last night. The problem is random but frustrating when it occurs. I performed the system reset last time and that did not work.

Do you have xbox one or xbox one s? Only the xbox one s does 4k blu-rays

Are specifically having this issue with the 4K Blue-Ray version of Oblivion as well? I saw that you mentioned 4K Blu-Rays worked before the update, did you set up your Xbox One S and try a 4K Blu-ray before updating?

Thanks for posting this up, are there any other Universal Studios 4K Blu-Ray movies that you can try out as well? In the meantime, please try uninstalling the Blu-Ray app, power cycle your Xbox One S console by holding the power button, and then reinstall
the Blu-Ray app.
