Blu Ray Problem: Cannot play Game of Thrones Season 3

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Microsoft team for fixing this problem so quickly. I know the internets often enough, can be too full of people complaining about things when they do not work correctly. So I would really like to carve
out a small space here to thank everyone involved in getting this situation fixed to quickly.

Couldn't agree more. Internet can be a hatred place full of complaints. Thx MS for fixing the problem so quickly.

 

The latest update did not fix the playback issue with Game of Thrones Season 3 on Blu-Ray.

Some users may encounter the error that was causing the Xbox to not read the disc, again, even after updating the Blu-Ray player app.

To work around this, fire up the Blu-Ray app with no disc in your Xbox.

You'll be prompted that there is no disc in your drive.

Insert Game of Thrones season 3 blu-ray into your drive.

I agree a lot of the issue's aren't related to the bluray discs, it's the firmware on the bluray drive or the app that needs patching, I had something different happen though, my issues was with X-Men: The Last Stand on bluray, it just give me the error
message saying the firmware needs updating on the bluray player in order to play the disc, I put it in my ps4 and it worked first time, tried it with two other bluray players and they all played it flawlessly.

So there must be a lot of firmware/patches required for the drive for certain blurays. I'm sure they will find out what the problem is and hopefully patch the app or address the issues in the next firmware update

 

Well, I know this forum is about Game of thrones and it's an old threat, but I guess my problem is bigger than this cause I've been trying to watch Wall Street and American Hustle blu ray movies and none of them works on my X1 but they work just fine in
my samsung blu ray. Any suggestion? :/ am I the only one?

 

Are you in the preview program by any chance?

I have also been having trouble getting the xbox to play blu rays. They play but only for a few minutes and then stop completely and I have to skip a chapter ahead to get it to work.

No, I used to be for the first time they released it but not anymore cause i knew it would bring a lot of issues testing new updates.

Mine doesnt even start the movie, it just says "no disc". Games and dvds play with no problem, thats weird!

 

It is possible that this is related to the Blu Ray app and the recent updates it has received. I have also been experiencing weird issues with the Blu ray recently and no one at Xbox will acknowledge if there is a known issue with the Blu Ray player.

No not games. I don't own many disc based games anymore. I've had issues with the blu ray app that I have reported to Microsoft. But no one on the Xbox team will verify if it is a problem on their end.

 

After a lot of questions and suggestions that didnt work, i was asking for my Gamertag via DM on twitter. if i have a solution, i'll let you know. Greetings!
