Blu Ray Problem: Cannot play Game of Thrones Season 3

The problem Microsoft have IMO is that none of their staff communicate with each other, it has been a known fault for a 2 days now, a memo should have gone to all CS staff to tell them this and to not waste customers time by going through all the stupid
steps to "fix" it when they know it won't work.

MS should apologize and so should HBO, it's a bloody disgrace!

 

Ah, thanks "Invader Phlegm"! I redeemed my digital copy on VUDU as you suggested, and I can watch all episodes on XBox One just fine, including even the special features. Very nice workaround until M$ get their act together.

 

Could this have anything to do with HBO's copyright protection? Every Xbox One and PS4 is equipped with the ability to record and publish content. Maybe HBO's HDCP is preventing the disc from loading.

 

i have had the same problem, seasons 1 and 2 play fine, just season 3...amazon sent me a replacement this morning and the same problem again! season 1 and 2 are fine, season 3 all get stuck on the loading tree screen. i'm returning both box sets for a refund.
all my other blu rays are fine, and ive reset my xbox and unplugged it etc, turned off BD etc

 

Twitter has exploded with this! have Rt'd a vid from a guy showing a workaround, basically you put in a disc that does work, get it loaded up to the mnu screen, ask it to play a special feature thats not on the disc and when it prompts you to lad the next
disc pop in season 3 and it works

Had to update blue ray app 5 min ago...seems to have fixed problem

 

I had the same problem last night. Very disappointed.

 

Yes, it's now been fixed via an update to the bluray app.. Looking forwards to watching it tonight finally!

 

I am having the same problem as everyone. Misery loves company. Interesting that we are getting reports of the ps4 not playing the discs as well. Steam machines are looking better all the time.

 

There was a patch for the Blu-Ray player released earlier this morning. For more information you can read the details here:

You can now insert a Game of Thrones season 3 disc and the blu-ray player will launch and request you confirm the update. Once updated, you'll be able to watch your favorite show.

I contacted Xbox Support of my country, I tried the solutions you posted but none worked. The we can confirm that is a compatibility issue.
