Blu Ray Problem: Cannot play Game of Thrones Season 3

Same problem here,

Really annoying as I'm sure it is for everyone else,

I presume the blu ray player is just missing its equivalent of a codec, but I don't understand the problem the cloud should fix all no?

Blu Ray Problem

I've got a problem with the Blu Ray player of my Xbox One. I tried to watch the Blu Ray game of thrones season 1, but it didn't work. If I insert the disk the App starts but then I have just blackscreen and jumping to the main menu doesn't work as well.
The strange is yesterday it worked without any problem. The Xbox plays other Blu Rays and DVDs without an problem.

 

I'm having the same problems. This is ridiculous

 

I believe Game of Thrones is working with PS4 to sabotage our experience with Xbox One. Have faith my friends. Settle for the DVD version until the Blu Ray codec can be updated, Have a six pack of beer and you will barely tell the difference.

 

This sucks. I hope they address this so we at least know what's happening.

This is seriously ridiculous! I am having the same issue. I have had enough of Microsoft, it took me over a month to do the "fast exchange" because they sent me a half printed label..I had to email Bill Gates email to get a new label afyer fighting with
their support team for a month. I wish they would get their head out of their butts and fix these issues.

 

Just adding on to this. I got a Day One edition and was perfectly content until now. One of the two biggest reasons that I went with the XB1 over the PS4 was that it finally would read blu-rays (the other being the HDMI I/O). Now, just 3 months later, they
are having issues with playing new titles. This is ridiculous. What really set me off was when the support twitter suggested that I return my blu rays and repurchase the season digitally through them! Yeah, I'm going to pay more for them (got the on sale on
Amazon), without the special features or being able to watch them on anything but my XB1. That makes sense. On top of that, they aren't even telling us what the issue is. I'm starting to really miss my PS3 and its native blu ray player.

 

Ditto... Here's the response I received from their twitter account...

"We've narrowed it down to a change in HBO Blu-Ray programming framework, but will be address w/ update soon! ^RZ"

 

Having the same problem as you guys hopefully this gets fixed soon, need to watch this season again and get back to Westeros before season 4 in April !!!

Add one more to the list. Season 3 is not working for me, either

Guess I will have to settle for the UltraViolet digital copy [also included in the box set], until they get this fixed. At least that has better quality than the DVD, plus can be redeemed via VUDU, which works just fine on Xbox One.
