blu ray player stuttering

Thanks for the replies guys! Yes Tactical, it's exactly the same. You're not the only one, nor do I believe it's your console. It was working fine as I have watched blu rays on the console before without any issues...well after they fixed the lip sync
issue, but this is different. Just like you, there is no rhyme or reason and if you back up to the spot it doesn't do it. Basically they fix one thing and break something else with this console. Aside from the atrocious UI that has its own problems, you'd
think it could handle playing blu rays fine. I popped the disc in my launch PS3, that is over 7 years old and it works flawlessly. This console needs A LOT of work and considering how it's been going, I don't have a lot of confidence in them fixing it.

I have stuttering on my blu ray movies and they play normal on ps3. Is this a problem with my console? Because I can return it

Would you please provide your system version as well as app version? Go to settings->system->console info, please provide OS version string. Go to my games&apps->apps->select blu-ray player->press the Left and Right Triggers and the View button simultaneously,
please provide the text with the bigger font in the pop-up UI. Thanks a lot for providing feedback!

I'm still experiencing stuttering as well. 50hz has been both disabled then enabled. Limited to 24hz, then not again and any combination of the above. I'm in the UK. I've played Wolverine, Xmen the first class, Shaun of the dead plus several more with problems.
I managed to watch Star Trek into darkness ok but this seems to be the only one.

Any help Microsoft? Getting a little fed up of having a £400 'all in one' media machine that doesn't play Blu-Ray's properly.

Nope, it has never been resolved. Improved? I guess. I haven't seen as drastic of stuttering as I have before, but it's still there. Uninstalled the app, reinstalled blah blah etc etc it does it. The crappy app with the crappy OS is the problem. I don't
think they know how to fix it...pretty pathetic actually...

 

I tried this option on my tv called cinema smooth it seems to help but not remove the stuttering completely... Do you have a similar option? So I guess no point in exchanging the system

 

Yeah it's not your system or your tv, it's the app. It's the only blu-ray player that does this. My PS4 and PS3 both play perfectly fine.

 

Hmm I am stumped then. Everytime I call support they say the issue is on my end.

 

hi guys.I'm from france .I have the same stutter issue with bluray.not everytime (with green hornet 3D no problem) but had issues with The avengers (2D) and Incredible Hulk.

it's random.

do you think it's a bluray drive problem?or App problem?

Is it an officialy reported problem? I'm scared it could be a material problem.

I think the problem is with the blu ray app like azstang95 said. I don't think this is a hardware problem or it would be happing much more frequently and across all video. Support thinks it's a hardware problem and that sending the system in for a repair
will help which it won't. The thing is it doesn't seem to happen on all movies just some more than others. I just was watching Star Wars Episode 1 and that disc stutters a lot but the fellowship of the ring is fine.

I agree and it definitely is a weird problem. It's an inexcusable problem if you ask me. I highly doubt there is a hardware issue since they have had issues with the app in the past such as lip sync issues and it has improved from what I can tell. Once
Sony updates the PS4 firmware to allow for Logitech Harmony support I'm not going to even bother with using the xbox one for blu ray....it's ridiculous.
