Blu ray player not working

I was getting the error message 0x87de2712 when trying to insert movies

I solved this way:

- Settings, Disc & Blu-ray, Persistent storage and Clear persistent storage;

- Settings, Network, Advanced Settings, Alternate MAC address and Alternate MAC address;

- Store, Apps, Search = blu, and install blu-ray disc

Started having the same issue yesterday when trying to play Game of Thrones. Did the whole delete persistent storage, power cycle, reboot to no avail. So, I uninstalled the bluray player app thinking reinstalling might help solve the issue and when I search
for bluray player in the app store, comes up as content not available when selecting the app. Decided to search all the xbox one apps in the store in desperation and the bluray player isn't listed. So, I guess I will have to wait until MS gets there act
sorted out so I can reinstall the bluray player app. It's worth mentioning, I also tried a DVD and it didn't work either so I'm guessing both actually use the bluray player app. Games are fine. Guess I will try seeing if it is fixed yet in the store.

I went to use both a DVD and Blu-ray this morning and neither of them worked. I got the error code 0X87DE2712 as well. I haven't tried any games yet however I am quite annoyed! I was thinking about deleting the app and then re-installing it, but read that
the Blu-ray app wasn't in the store anymore. I don't know if that is a good or bad thing since I can't use the Blu-ray player anyway. Just waiting for MS to get in gear and get it fixed.

Yah mine has never played blu rays on que, always takes inserting/ejecting about ~15 times before reading...let me know if you get yours fixed....mine has already been back from repair and still doing this...

I'm having the same issue now, went to watch bluray. Said update so tried that said error with update. So.uninstalled app and now its not available in store to reinstall.

Just tried the Blu Ray on a PS3 and it works like a charm, so it's definatly a bug on the Blu-Ray Player on the Xbox One!

No I would expect a blu ray player to play DVDs as good as a standalone DVD player. Blu Ray players don't magically improve DVDs. The problem would appear to be that the One blu Ray player doesn't perform well when playing DVDs in comparison to other
Blu Ray players.

I purchased "The River" Blu Ray at my local fly fishing shop the other day and it will not play in my Xbox One.

I brought it to a friend's house that has other Blu Ray players and it works just fine in the non-Xbox Blu Ray players (it won't work in his Xbox One either.)

Any thoughts on what the issue might be?

Do you think that the official Blu Ray cleaner disks (for Blu Ray players) will work and not damage anything?

They say they work in the PS3, and that has a slot-load drive. I assume that the drives are similar.

Nah, no voice controls with blu ray. Those commands work with Netflix, amazon, and xbox video but it's strangely absent from the blu ray player. Throw in a blu ray and check it out, check out how dumb the controls are too. They could be sooo much better.
