Blu ray player not working

See, and I'm totally the opposite. I don't buy tons of movies anymore, but when I do, I buy the Blu-ray version. Most of the time it comes with a regular dvd anyways. I almost use my PS3 exclusively to play Blu-rays. Nine out of ten times if I buy a game, I buy it for the Xbox. The only time I play the PS3 is for the Sony exclusive titles like Uncharted or GoW.

Snap! Same thing here as well. Since when does my blu-ray player dictate to me when and when can I watch a movie!

Deleted the app thinking there was an update since the latest firmware and now can't even find the blu-ray app in the store?!

I deleted my app as well. Went to re-install it & like you said its totally disappeared.

Same here. Tried playing a movie for my kid and it just won't load. A game disc works but not a blu ray. Even unplugged the xbox one, did not help.

 

Hey had this issue as well. I did these steps 2x and it worked.

I had the same problem today for the first time. My son fixed it for me. He held the disc for about 3/4 of a second while the xbox tried to suck it in and then let it go in. I don't know why but it works now will all of the blue rays I just rented.

 

To clarify - I had to follow the instructions for None of my discs play, or my disc isn’t recognized when I insert it. Where you turn it to energy savings and reboot.

I have the same issue on both of the Xbox Ones in my house. Tired different Blu Ray disks, deleted persistant data through the system settings, restarted the xbox, everything and get the same error message. Tried deleting the app on one xbox and just like
everyone else, now the reinstall errors when you select the Blu Ray icon. XBOX support wants me to send in my console even though this is obviously a software issue. I even asked them to look at this thread and they still expect me to send both consoles
in for repair. Unbelieveable

 

They were going to have me send it in for repair (after I had just gotten one back for a similar issue - the issue where the disk drive won't read anything including games. The issue this time was different games worked but DVDs and BlueRays didn't). That's
why I tried energy savings, hard boot a second time and that got rid of my issue.
