'Blu-ray player' issues

I an also had a problem stated above with my Blu-ray I tried to play The Family it played all the previews but when it got to the menu it went blank but you could still hear it playing through the speakers. it would even let you hit play and the movie would
start but I still had a blank screen. it was weird because then you hit the home screen button and the playing (blank) movie was still playing you could now see the picture. This started after the update. I hope it only does it with this movie. Very disappointed
I feel like for $500 bucks it should work flawlessly.

 

Seriously this is ridiculous. I also can't play Game of Thrones Season 3. I just joined the ship I work on to with my fully updated console. Better work when I get back to land! I'm absolutely sick of my Xbox one. So many problems.

 

Issue today with Redbox Blue ray Disk rental of "The Family " Same as ADAM63

 

Most of my films now play "ok" but I get severe judder problems with Apollo 13, despicable me and 9 (all universal studios blurays)

Xbox set to rgb limited, 24bit, 24hz.

 

Blu-Ray disc compatibility issues are far from anything new.. this is because the BD format continually evolves, adding new features etc. This in turn requires firmware updates for each individual piece of kit that has a BD player to play some of the newer
discs that have new features.

This is not a problem but a fact of using blu-ray, its nothing to do with the BD player in the Xbox one (or whatever player) but purely down to a required firmware update... MS just need to pull their finger out and get these updates to us.

Ive had several BD players and experienced issues with some films not playing properly or loading at all. In fact I just turned on my Panasonic BD player which I haven't used for a few months and its several firmware versions behind.

Unlike good old Toshiba's HD-DVD format, Blu-Ray was not completely standardized and left a lot of early BD adopters with some very expensive door stops.. so you could really thank Sony for this mess lol

 

star wars episode 1-3 bluray is not working either but watched dark knight trilogy a few days ago

 

Yeah just got my xbox one yesterday and wont play blueray, just goes to a blank screen or will even shut itself off.

 

mine is coming up with a error code when im trying to watch Pirates of the Caribbean on Strangers Tide

 

I'm still getting intermittent judders or a slight skip on all of the Blu-Ray's that I've played. I can play the same films perfectly on my PS3 with no issues so I know that it's not the discs. I've tried limiting to 24hz but still experiencing the judder.
I know MS released a patch for EU users (I'm in the UK) ref the 50hz issue but I’m not seeing an improvement. I don't know if there is an issue with my Xbox Blu-Ray drive or if this is something that will be fixed in another update. Games install fine and
although I haven’t watched DVD’s for any length of time they seem ok.

I only bought this console when Titanfall came out so I'm a little disappointed with everything else being fine. I really want to sell my PS3 and just use my Xbox for everything but I'm reluctant to do so with these issues.

Anyone else still struggling post April/May updates?

I find this pretty appalling considering that the Blu-Ray drive is not new tech. I appreciate that there are teething problems but seriously how can you just forget that a whole region uses a different refresh rate. I wish that we weren't just an after thought
in Europe.

Really shouldn't need to come to a forum or tweet xbox support to get my Blu-Ray player working - which it still isn't. Can't even be 100% sure that there isn't something wrong with the console however having seen everyone else's comments, that seems more
and more unlikely.

 

I am having problems with the Blu Ray player from Day 1. While it has gotten better, it is very annoying to watch something on the blu ray player that has screen jitters and audio sync issues. The latest patch solved some problems but caused more. For
example my Star Wars set which was once fine now jitters on all the movies. And forget about putting in a 1080i that is not in 24fps, it barely plays. I find this amazing as my PS3 and stand alone players never had such issues.

 

We believe we have fixed the last jitter issue, but have not been able to release an updated player in about a month because of Blu-ray certification issues. There is no ETA yet, sorry.

a501legionaire, can you give me an example of one of your 1080i discs? With UPC code off the back if possible. I'd like to order it and make sure it is fixed as well.

 

I fixed the jitter issue as well...I just used any other blu-ray player aside from the xbox one and it works just fine! Wonder what else will be broken after it updates?

 

I went and got my Oppo BDP-80 out from under the bed to watch Blu-ray's and that's sad because I spent $500 on this one. I'm very disappointed because...Blu-ray is nothing new, just new to Microsoft. I had rented the Robocop and it stuttered at least 3 times
and the audio was out of sync. for the whole movie.
