Discus and support Blu-ray player issue in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I'm also having this problem after the update. Video is black but i get audio.     Blu-ray player issue


    I'm also having this problem after the update. Video is black but i get audio. When i hit the xbox guide then the video comes back. It's not my receiver, worked fine before the update

    I never tried it before the update but I have a feeling it is because of that.

    Happened to me the other day. I went to the dashboard after playing a game and the my screen went black. No video, just audio. I changed cables and input settings on my receiver and still nothing. Then I unplugged the power for a minute and everything worked
    just fine. Hasn't happened since

    Blu-ray player issue

    I am having the same exact issue. I rented "the family" last night with my wife and friend. The previews played fine, but the second the actual movie started, the screen went black. I can hit the "xbox" button and the movie shows minimized within my dashboard.
    The second I put it back to fullscreen..... Black screen. Every time. I've uninstalled app. I've hard booted. I've checked every setting multiple times. Its not a setting. Its something internally. I've tweet xbox, and I'm not looking forward to an all day
    back and forth with basic troubleshooting ideas. Its not that. I really hope MS fixes this as it embarassed me and Xbox infront of my friend. He must of said "Should of bought a PS4" to me 40 times.

    count me in, just so all of us that read this forum, know we are not crazy. 2 days ago, AFTER the March update, I tried to watch Doctor Who Day of the Doctor Blu Ray and just as described, everything including the menus and trailers, worked fine. The second
    the movie starts, no video/only audio. Now interesting enough, that is only blu ray in my collection that does that. And I've tried them all.

    Sigh..... And yes i have tried everything that Euthanasia 1978 did as well to fix.

    The XBone has more glitches and weird little bugs then any computer or console I've ever owned. They can be day to day, movie to movie, app to app. Ya never know what is going to happen when you turn it on. Microsoft seems sincere in their intention to
    fix but I'm really starting to wonder. I also have the PS4 and it is simple, and elegant and works every time.

    I have the same exact issue and movie as Euthanasia1978. My blu-ray has worked before the update. Anybody get a response from MS?

    IMHO a stand alone Blu-Ray player is always going to do a better job of playing Blu-Rays than a console. As you already own the 3D Blu-ray player what's the issue?

    It is possible that this is related to the Blu Ray app and the recent updates it has received. I have also been experiencing weird issues with the Blu ray recently and no one at Xbox will acknowledge if there is a known issue with the Blu Ray player.

    DVD playback quality is still atrocious.

    No I would expect a blu ray player to play DVDs as good as a standalone DVD player. Blu Ray players don't magically improve DVDs. The problem would appear to be that the One blu Ray player doesn't perform well when playing DVDs in comparison to other
    Blu Ray players.

    I don't need to download an app to use my Blu-ray player and it updates its own firmware.

    All Blu-ray players use software for playback. It is called firmware and generally is user updateable. The Xbox One is a proper Blu-ray player that has issues at the moment. Lip sync and no 3D playback among them.
