    Blu Ray Player Hangs


    Having an intermittent and annoying issue with the Blu Ray player app. Every time I watch a blu-ray with xbox one it hangs atleast once during the movie. It's usually just one time about half way through and hangs for 5-10 sec, sometimes audio is out of
    sync afterwards. I expect the fix is to uninstall/reinstall the blu ray app, which I will do regardless. I'm mainly reporting this issue so it can be looked into fixing during a future update. Thanks.

    See, and I'm totally the opposite. I don't buy tons of movies anymore, but when I do, I buy the Blu-ray version. Most of the time it comes with a regular dvd anyways. I almost use my PS3 exclusively to play Blu-rays. Nine out of ten times if I buy a game, I buy it for the Xbox. The only time I play the PS3 is for the Sony exclusive titles like Uncharted or GoW.

    Why is it that when Xbox Live services go down, I can't watch a freaking movie anymore?

    Yeah, this is new. I've been using my xbox as my main blu ray/dvd player since I got it (got shot of my stand-alone blu ray player for that reason), and would watch a disc without having to sign in. Now signed in or not signed in I keep getting the same
    message as the person above, which freezes whatever you're watching & continues every 2-3 mins. Hoping it's just a gremlin in the system tonight, but if not.... Xbox live being down shouldn't make any difference to me watching a movie offline.

    DVD playback quality is still atrocious.

    No I would expect a blu ray player to play DVDs as good as a standalone DVD player. Blu Ray players don't magically improve DVDs. The problem would appear to be that the One blu Ray player doesn't perform well when playing DVDs in comparison to other
    Blu Ray players.

    IMHO a stand alone Blu-Ray player is always going to do a better job of playing Blu-Rays than a console. As you already own the 3D Blu-ray player what's the issue?
