    Blu-Ray Player App Not Working, Won't Re-install/Update


    So, ever since 7/2, I have not been able to watch any Bluray movies on my Xbox One console. Every time I insert a disc, it goes to the app, but then stops and says it can't play and gives an error code. In the past, I've had limited success in uninstalling
    the app and reinstalling it, but now as of today, it won't reinstall. In fact, when I find it in the app store, it says "This app is not compatible with this device". How can that be? There is no install button, and I am on the latest version released just
    today (10.0.14388.1001 - rs1_xbox_rel_1608.160711-2017). The last error that I received was 0x80073D05.

    I can't watch or play physical media at this time.

    Xbox One Blu-ray player app not installing.

    My Blu-ray player app won't install. It will get to 100% and then it will say installation stopped. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing twice and have power cycled my console once. Any other suggestions?

    From settings go to disc and Blu Ray and clear persistent storage at least three times. Next, go to settings>network>advanced settings>alternate MAC address>clear, it will then ask to restart. Once the console has rebooted you'r good to go!

    This did not help. I am still getting that "This app is not compatible with this device".

    Xbox One issue

    Maybe it has something to do with the Blu-Ray app. Try removing the Blu-Ray app and re-installing.

    I can provide you with some basic tips so long.

    Set up and install the Blu-ray and DVD player app on Xbox

    To watch Blu-ray or DVD movies on your Xbox console, you first need to install the Blu-ray Player app. To install the app, choose one of the following options.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide, select Home, and then select Store.

    Select Search and enter Blu-ray in the search bar. Select the Blu-ray Player app when it appears in the list of results.

    Select Install to download and install the app.

    Insert a Blu-ray or DVD disc into your Xbox.

    Select the Blu-ray Player app when it appears.

    On the Blu-ray Player app details page, select Install.

    Your disc should start playing automatically.

    After the app is installed, you can watch Blu-ray or DVD movies by inserting the disc into your Xbox console and selecting Blu-ray Player on the Home screen, or by finding it under My games & apps

    I keep getting the occasional problem where the blu ray app just froze and wouldn't load the disc, I just re install the blu ray app and it worked fine after that

    Thanks for those suggestions.

    I uninstalled the blu-ray player and did a reset keeping my games, then reinstalled and tried DVD. No difference.

    I did a reset, losing all my games and apps, re-installed the blu-ray player and tried DVD. No difference.

    I don't suppose there's an alternative DVD player app I can use?

    To watch DVD's or Blu-rays on your Xbox One you need to have the Blu-ray Player App installed and up to date!

    You can set the App to install from your Xbox Store by searching for it or here: Blu-ray Player App
