Blu-Ray Player app does not use custom caption

I'm deaf and blind, so I use the custom caption setting to increase the size and change the style (so I can see it easier).

This works great in Netflix, however the blu-ray app does not use the custom caption style. Will this be added/fix?

Also, some dvd use the old school cc instead of subtitles. The blu-ray app does not automatically display cc when the caption is turn on in the settings and does not give a way to turn it on.

    :)

    Play videos on burned discs

I've put a disk in and none of the apps even see the optical blu ray drive let alone any media files on it. The blu ray player app does play media on a blu ray disk that is in the proper blu ray format, but VLC, or even the file explorer app do not even display the optical drive. I can play media on an external drive using VLC.

You have to download the Blu-ray player app.

    Hey there Tealus Lildaily!

Unfortunately customizing closed caption is not a current feature in the Blu-ray app. Since your feedback is important to us, I recommend posting on our Xbox
    Feedback
page. From our feedback site, you can post new ideas and suggestions. If your idea is already posted, you can vote on the listed idea. For now the only option for subtitles on Blu-ray/DVD can be accessed by pressing the B button on your
Xbox One controller while the disc is playing. Once the menu pops up, you can scroll to the right to the Closed Caption icon and press A to turn on subtitles.

That does no good, leaving a disability access functionality up for a popularity contest is not a smart move by any corporation.

Do you really believe that that feature will win any kind of functionality popularity contest. This is a basic disability access that xbox one is using for Netflix, xbox videos, and others. But for some reason, the blu-ray app doesn't follow the standard.

Blu-Ray Player doesn't display Closed Captions.

    Hi Lucello,

The Xbox One does support Closed Captions on supported DVDs, Blu-rays and stream services. Instructions below to enable/disable this option:

    1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to return to the dashboard.

    2. Press the Menu button and select Settings.

    3. Select Closed Captioning in the Console settings column.

    4. To turn closed captions on or off, or to customise how captions appear, select Closed captioning on and use custom styles.

Blu-Ray Player doesn't display Closed Captions.

I already did that... Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to affect the Blu-Ray player... It only will do Subtitles off the disc, and this particular disc doesn't have subtitles.

The subtitles do work if the disc has subtitles, but if the disc only has Closed Captions, the Blu-Ray Player will not display them.

Issue with Xbox not reading DVD's

Make sure you have the Blu-Ray app installed. Blu-Ray player function uses dvds too.
