    Blu-ray playback


    Dear Dev Team, I am really pleased with all the great new features in the preview programme and am having little or no issues generally. However I have noticed when playing back a 3D Blu-ray the other night that there was noticeable stuttering throughout
    the film. Please advise. Thanks

    Xbox One: Blu-ray and DVD movies

    I would check out the Xbox page for Blu-ray playback regarding regions. But yes, your Xbox One can certainly play DVD and Blu-ray movies.

    Hey there, AGENT 62! I'm sorry to see that you've got some stuttering in your playback! Are your glasses based on IR (infrared)? If so, you should try to disable your Kinect by going to
    Settings > Kinect and unchecking Kinect On. I've also seen some users simply turn their Kinect around and get the same results.

    Please post back your results! I want to make sure this works for you. Blu-ray playback :D

    Hi Misses Quinzel, thanks for getting back to me. I will try this and feedback to you, can I ask what effect the Kinect may be having on the bluray playback so I can better understand the issue? I don't quite understand why you would have to turn off Kinect
    to enjoy watching a movie. Blu-ray playback :)

    Oh I think I understand, you think it may be a glasses connection issue rather than playback?

    I have spoken to Samsung and they inform me that the glasses are paired via Bluetooth.

    Thanks so much for the quick reply, AGENT 62! I appreciate that you spoke with Samsung, too. Blu-ray playback :D And yes, I believe that it may be a glasses issue. The Kinect's infrared vision can block the vision of the glasses to the receiver on your TV. Were you able
    to try with the Kinect off, covered, or turned around?

    All Blu-ray players use software for playback. It is called firmware and generally is user updateable. The Xbox One is a proper Blu-ray player that has issues at the moment. Lip sync and no 3D playback among them.

    I don't need to download an app to use my Blu-ray player and it updates its own firmware.

    You seem to have taken this a little too personally Listed.

    Besides you seem to have misunderstood the subject. The OP is not complaining that blu-ray playback is better than that of DVD. Rather that the One's DVD playback ability is not as good as standalone blu-ray players.
