Blu-ray Playback Problem

I have a blu-ray and when I put it in to play it only plays the very last chapter, which is only an ad. Can't get to the menu or start the movie. Also can't skip or go back chapters.

I've reinstalled the blu-ray app and don't get any errors.

I've tried two blu-rays and it happens on both but others work with no issues.

this number of problem, when I try playback blu-ray on my XBox one. all of my discs are multiregion.

Yeah, this Blu-Ray app is glitchy and really needs to be updated more frequently. Trying to watch Riddick the other day, the loading animation came up, went away, then just a black screen. Waited a couple of minutes, quit the app, started it again, and
this time it worked.

Maybe try turning off the online blu ray option in the xbox system settings. i always disable that on all my blu ray players, it prevent it from having to load ad and such from the internet. Riddick seemed fine when i played it a few weeks ago.

That's a good idea, I didn't think of that (turning off the BD Live feature). I will say when it works, it's much faster loading the menus than my standalone blu-ray players (Panasonic fast-loading ones too).

Shouldn't have to disable settings such as blu ray live on a £500 + console

Blu-ray persisant storage is for the internet featues some Blu-ray movies, it has nothing to do with the playback of the movies.

My point was and still is, that a PS3 or a computer with a Blu-Ray drive rely on software for playback so both can be affected by whatever software/OS is running in the background. A stand alone Blu-ray player does not have that problem.

I assume that it will be the same with the Xbox One as an app is needed for playback of BR's.

All Blu-ray players use software for playback. It is called firmware and generally is user updateable. The Xbox One is a proper Blu-ray player that has issues at the moment. Lip sync and no 3D playback among them.

I had the same happen with one of my Blu-ray discs.. But all the others worked ok.

Not tried a DVD yet.

The Blu-ray playback has lip-sync problems, so they will hopefully get this app thoroughly reviewed.
