    Hi I just recently purchased an xbox1 and upon trying to watch Blu-ray's, my Xbox goes into an idle mode where the screen dulls. I have maxed out the timer to 60 mins for screen dim, however I Am unable to stop the Xbox from going into idle mode while I
    Am watching Blu-ray's. If anyone knows the answer that would be great.

    Xbox One S pre-orders 'off to an amazing start'

    Ya that 4k blu-ray player is a must have for 4k enthusiasts. Fact is even 4k streaming like netflix cant produce the same quality as a 4k blu ray. And on top of it the only other true 4k blu-ray costs at least 350 bucks. The reason for the high cost is because it needs a good proccessor in it, and that is something the xbox one has!

    Im still kinda surprised we didnt see a slim without a bluray drive, or in other words an all digital xbox. Maybe within a year? Maybe the scorpio wont have a blu-ray drive? Hmmmm

    Go to settings, select preferences, and hit idle options. Now, uncheck “Show me things when idle.” This should get rid of the idle problem.

    This will fix the current issue, but removes the idle screen. This sounds like a bug as it is not intended to idle while watching a disc based movie (or streaming content either).

    Ensure you have the latest version of the bluray app from the store. If that doesn't fix it, the work around M3tal Daz3 suggested will work, but it not a permanent fix as it removes the Idle option from the console.

    Sorry but it's not clear to us exactly which Idle settings you tried. Have you tried the suggestion in the Reddit thread?

    Go to Settings, select Preferences, and hit Idle options. Now, uncheck “Show me things when idle.” This should get rid of the idle problem.

    I don't have screen dimming on my Xbox One when using Blu-ray or DVD's and I have that option unchecked as recommended.

    If you don't want to do a full console reset (make sure you know your sign-in details first) then you can try removing and reinstalling the Blu-ray app first. Reinstalling apps or resetting the console
    are suggested because that sometimes fixes issues that arose due to an unknown system corruption.

    This is exactly the issue I am STILL having, even with the new update. :(
