Blu ray has taken too long to start (0x802705a)

I have been unable since the most recent update to watch any of my blu-rays or dvds on my xbox one x but instead am given a message similar to the thread subject with the same code. I have looked up the code done multiple restarts and uninstalls and even
tried to wait it out but its getting out of hand. One of the selling points of the Xbox is supposed to be watching Blu-ray but the App will not start. And for the record games will run no problem I seem to only have this issue with the Blu-ray app. Please
what is something I can do to get Microsoft to fix the broken app or what I can do to get it to work for me.

Howdy.

If, in your troubleshooting attempts, you haven't already tried clearing the Disc & Blu-Ray persistent storage, you might also give that a try.

To do so, go to Settings/Disc & Blu-Ray/Blu-Ray/Persistent Storage, then select "Clear persistent storage."

Once you've done that, hold down the Xbox button on the front of the console for 10 seconds and let the console power down. Then boot the console up and try playing a disc.

I had a suspicion that it might have something to do with Microsoft trying to go disc-less (ALA their new console) but that might just be the conspiracy theorist in me.

Thanks for reaching out to Xbox forums support.

If resetting the console (keep my games and apps) does not work..

I would suggest resetting the console and (NOT KEEPING MY GAMES AND APPS) since you are

have an issue with an actual APP. Refreshing the entire console and re-installing the apps would be

a good way to get everything back into sync.

On your console, install the

On the power menu, select Report a problem.
Describe the problem in detail, including when it happened, if you saw any specific error codes or messages, and if you were using any specific games, software, hardware, or accessories when you encountered the problem.
