Blu-Ray first stuttering, now just freezing brand new discs

I am having an issue playing my blu-ray discs on my xbox one. I Never used my Xbox one for playing blu-rays but I bought it thinking I'd be able to and have been buying a bunch of blu ray discs since this black friday. I got the lord of the rings boxset
brand new and went to play the fellowship of the ring and after the first 10 minutes of playing just fine, the video and audio both started to stutter. I tried pausing and unpausing, re-installing the blu-ray app, checking the 24hz box in the blu-ray settings
and now instead of just stuttering, the movie wants to completely freeze around the same part. It won't let me rewind or fast forward or go to disc menu, all I can do is restart the app and try again (which has yielded the same results every time).

I know the disc is in perfect condition because I just unwrapped and opened the boxset right before putting it in my xbox 30 minutes ago so it's either the xbox or the blu-ray app. Either way this needs to get fixed asap.

Also: What BluRay discs are you trying to play that lock up the BluRay player app, and what BluRays are in poor quality?

The discs that had issues were Super man and wonder women .. I also now have issues with the games locking up and freezing .. Brand new unit or quality was Super man which has no issue on a Pioneer Blue Ray player .

Xbox One not playing newer Blue Rays

Same problem here brand new Lego movie Blue Ray won't play in the XboxOne. also Blue rays that played months ago wont play now. i see a quick message that the disc has stopped then is just goes back to the blue ray logo and spinning icon. can still play
game discs with no problem. need to fix this

Same here, man! The troubleshooting page recommends to clean the discs (and it helps) but, honestly, I think a machine like this should be able to play ordinary BDs smoothly.

I'm having the same problem. I have a disc that works on other blu-ray players, but stutters on my xbox one. The disc is brand new too. I uninstalled the blu-Ray app and reinstalled, but still get the same problem.

A little late but I just bought an Xbox One( The Assassins Creed Unity Bundle) and the first Blu ray I watched was brand new and I was getting a 1 second stutter some what randomly. It was roughly around every 20 minutes. Very obnoxious it felt like I was
watching a scratched DVD not a brand new Blu ray. Its frustrating and kind of ruins the movie experience.

I am having the exact same problem. With HDR enabled, my 4K UHD version of the Revenant has stuttering and dropped frames. With HDR disabled, it plays flawlessly. Auto brightening is off, I don't have 50hz enabled (it's grayed out). I do have 24Hz enabled.
Disabling 24Hz, with HDR enabled, creates a washed out, almost colorless picture.

Also, I have tried two different brand new 4k UHD Blu-Ray Revenant discs (first one was exchanged at the store). My XBox Blu-Ray player plays standard Blu-Rays flawlessly, with HDR enabled, with no stuttering. So, it's not the player, and it's not the disc.
The problem occurs playing 4K UHD Blu-Rays, with HDR enabled. I also have the latest version of the app, and my Vizio P55-C1 firmware is up to date (it updates automatically).

same here, games and blu-rays work fine. blu-ray app is installed. DVD disc will not play I get an error message. I just bought a brand new DVD and still will not work.
