    Blu-Ray/DVD player stutters


    The kiddos and I were trying to watch a movie this weekend on the xbox one, and about 40 minutes into it the movie started pausing and starting, jumping (stuttering) from section to section. The sound seemed to keep going and then the video would speed
    up to catch up with the sound. It did this for about 2 minutes and then went back to the home screen and would not allow me to play the disc again. This has happened in the past and I uninstalled the Blu-Ray app and then reinstalled it. I haven't watched
    any movies using the disc drive since then I guess. It's kind of frustrating not being able to watch a movie on the xbox.

    Anybody have any fixes for this?

    DVD playback quality is still atrocious.

    No I would expect a blu ray player to play DVDs as good as a standalone DVD player. Blu Ray players don't magically improve DVDs. The problem would appear to be that the One blu Ray player doesn't perform well when playing DVDs in comparison to other

    I would try using another DVD and Blu-Ray to be sure that it is not a disc issue. If it is not and it occurs on other movies I would contact support at
    support.xbox.com/.../contact-us to determine the next course of action. It sounds like it might be a faulty disc, however it could be an issue with the laser of the drive. Hope that helps!

    This isn't the first time this has happened. I've tried several different dvd's and have also removed and reinstalled the bluray app, and it still does it.

    I have contacted Microsoft and they had me send in the unit. It was about 3 weeks out of warranty, but they are still honoring it. We'll see if they can fix it.
