    Blu-Ray Audio Issues

I know there are threads on a sync issue when playing blu-rays on the Xbox One but I am a unique issue here. I can't hear dialogue in movies only background sounds when playing blu-ray movies on my X1. In other words, I hear music, ambient sounds,
surround sounds but for the life of me I can't hear dialogue.

My set-up is pretty basic, using my LG LCD 55lm6700 as the hub which all devices connect with HDMI and I have a sound bar connected with optical from the optical output from the TV. I have used my Samsung Blu-Ray player to see if I connecting something
wrong and I have no issues using the BD player.

I have tried different options selected on the X1 and nothing seems to fix this audio issue. And to me with my knowledge that is exactly what is happening here. Its either a driver issue or a codec issue, which in either case an update can fix.

I can only hope this post gets to them because by far the X1 is anything but the all-in-one media is tries to portray itself as. Or they simply rushed the hell out of this product. Blu-Ray playback issues, no Dolby Digital support, no 3D support.

    :)

Xbox one bluRay audio problems. Help needed.

I've been having issues with my audio when playing blu ray's on the xbox one. It doesn't matter what disc I use or what audio source. No audio will play through my headset directly from the controller, or hooked up to my 4k tv. This all started several months ago when it would freeze and the audio will go out of sync with the picture. Netflix, vudu, and games are not affected. My asus montiors also supports hdmi sound and they dont work when the blu ray movie plays.
I just spent an hour with Xbox support and nothing they suggest had any effect on the issue. My xbox, unfortunately, is out of warranty.

    Things i've tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the blu ray app.
    switching the audio settings.
installing the app on both my internal and external.
using fiber optic sound cable through my mix amp.

    The behavior is the same.

Could this be an issue with the blu ray player, a combination between the App and the device, or the App just being the worst app ever created on this planet?

Bitstream DTS reported as 5.1 not 7.1

Maybe it's the Blu Ray only providing DTS in 5.1 Are the provided audio formats listed on the Blu Ray?

Did you try several different discs? Also, you might want to look in the support forums.

I apologize for the block of text. That was not my intention. I spaced everything out when I typed it and when I hit post it shows a wall. SMH. LOL.

I tried 10 different disc. All work fine on BD player. None worked fine on my X1. Its not my setup, its an issue with X1. I am certain. I just wanted to post to make people aware of this issue and hopefully Microsoft is watching the threads and reads my
    post.

They aren't watching here when it comes to support issues....Just a question, did you try by-passing the hub and go direct from xbox one to the TV?

  7. Have you set HDMI on the Xbox One manually, rather than having HDMI set to auto detect? Also try deleting the Blu Ray app and reinstalling it.

We were just experiencing this issue and figured out what was causing it on our end.

Go to Settings->Display & Sound and check under Digital Audio for the HDMI Audio setting. Our got changed to 7.1 somehow and changing it back to Stereo Uncompressed resolved this.

    Hopefully this works for you.

Does the Xbox One use Lossless Audio on Blu-ray and HDMI in?

After doing some extensive searches, it looks like the One has a few issues with the audio output. It only plays max 48htz. I cant find anything about passing another blu-ray through it, but would think that it doesn't pass un-affected and most likely will
downgrade the audio. I would suggest trying it with one of the Disney blu-rays that have the audio tests and see what actually happens. Those that have tested the blu-ray of the One and not getting the acceptable sound just ended up not connecting their
blu-rays and using the One as a game only..

Bitstream audio lag on Xbox One X (but not for blu-rays)

I’m going through this on the Sonos support forum now. While I was running a couple of checks, I realised that I had it a little bit wrong here:

With bitstream, there is no audio lag when playing blu-rays and I do NOT tell the Xbox to allow the receiver to decode the audio.

There is audio lag when playing games with this setup.

If I tell the Xbox to allow the receiver to decode blu-ray audio and the audio is being output through HDMI, the audio plays but the blu-ray picture freezes. I don’t believe this is an issue with the tv or Sonos because i can still move through the pop-up
menus with the picture frozen in the background and the sound playing.

If I disable the HDMI audio and use the Xbox’s optical output directly, it works as per the previous (blu-rays fine, games lagging).

    HD Movie Purchase Specs

No, Blu-ray and HD are not the same. Blu-ray is the media format. Not all content on Blu-ray is HD. Anyway, wondering more of the actual specs, like bit rate, fps, and streaming format for both audio and video.
