Blu Ray audio and video are not in sync

Hello all,

I am having trouble with the blu ray player on my Xbox one. I have a day one Xbox one if that makes a difference. Long story short when I play blu ray movies the sound is not synced with the video. Normally the sound is behind the video, but at times
I've seen it the other way around. I have a sound bar I use on occasion and this problem is with or without it. My the volume through my tv will be off or when I use the sound bar I have the same problem. It doesn't matter what sound system I use. My Xbox
is up to date, I have tried to do some research online, I've tried unplugging my Xbox for a few minutes, none of these things have changed the issue. Can someone please advise on this?

Xbox One S - DVD & Blu-ray audio out of sync - DVD audio/video sync worse

I just bought the Xbox One S Battlefield version a few days ago. When playing DVDs and Blu-Ray discs, the audio/video is out of sync. The audio/video sync is much worse on DVD discs.

DVD/Blu-ray sync issue is only a fractions of a second, but lip movement does not match speech. Therefore it is most noticeable when people talk fast. I've used the new Star Trek movies for testing because I have DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital copies. Dr. McCoy
talks the fastest, so the sync issue is most noticeable on him.

My issue is limited to the Xbox One S Blu-ray/DVD player. I've tried the same setup with 3 different Blu-ray/DVD players without any issues. When watching TV or videos through streaming apps or cable box the audio/video is perfectly in sync.

I contacted online chat and walked through all their suggestions (including power cycle, reinstall Blu-ray player, clear persistent storage, and reset to factory defaults). Their last suggestion is to exchange my Xbox for a new one.

Does anyone else have other suggestions to correct the DVD audio/video sync issue?

Is anyone else experiencing this audio sync issue? If so, do you have the same Xbox One S Battlefield Edition (Military green with 1 TB hard drive)

UPDATE: Xbox One S returned. No solution for audio sync issue on DVD/Blu-ray playback.

After scouring the internet I cannot find a solution. The Xbox Support seems to be correct. There was an issue with the Xbox One S where the audio was not in sync with the video on DVD and Blu-ray playback. I returned the Xbox One S.

Hopefully few other experience the issue.

Let's check a few thins. Have you also tried playing with the TV audio settings to see if there might be any sort of sync setting to adjust? Have you tried changing the audio settings on the console as well to see if it helps out with this sync issue?

If you go into Settings > Display & sound > Audio output. What are your settings for HDMI and Optical audio if you're using that option. Does changing these settings help with this audio issue?

Any update on this reported issue? I have almost the same setup as the original poster, and I am also encountering issues with audio syncing on blu rays. I myself have the audio settings on my TV set to default.
