Blu ray app works sometimes.

I bought Xbox one S solely for the blu ray player and capability to play UHD blu rays. However, the blu ray player app doesn't work every time and with every disc I use.

So far, I can get the UHD 4k blu rays to play after ejecting it once or twice and putting it back it.

*** But then, regular blu rays may not play at all. Some blu rays work right away, some work after ejecting it once or twice, some will play the previews but then won't go to Top Menu/main menu and subsequently won't play the movie, some won't play at all
no matter how long I wait or how many times I eject and re-insert the disc. The screen just goes black and then... nothing. ***

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the app. I've done the hard reset. Etc. Fully updated.

Please help Microsoft.

The menu button on the xbox one media remote does not work in the blu ray app. It will not pull up the blu ray dvd menu. The menu button on the gaming remote will pull up the blu ray menu. Can you notify me when this is resolved. The menu button does work
every where else except in the blu ray app.

 

Play videos on burned discs

I've put a disk in and none of the apps even see the optical blu ray drive let alone any media files on it. The blu ray player app does play media on a blu ray disk that is in the proper blu ray format, but VLC, or even the file explorer app do not even display the optical drive. I can play media on an external drive using VLC.

 

I am also experiencing the same issues. I bought this as a 4k blu ray player (was always a PS guy). I really want to love it but I'm about to give up on xbox of this cannot be fixed.

 

I bought a refurbished Xbox One a couple of years ago and I had this problem. Sometimes blu rays & DVDs work, but most of the time they don't. Very disappointing. None of the solutions in the forums work. I even sent my Xbox One in to have Microsoft
look at it since it was covered under warranty. I did that twice, but they didn't fix it.
