Blu Ray app (Updates)

Greetings!

For the past several months, ever since the feature was added to check for updates on all games/apps, my bluray app wants to update every time I power on the machine. I'm not sure if it's failing to update, or failing to mark itself as updated, or what.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and it doesn't make a difference. For a while, another app was doing this too, but it stopped on it's own at some point. (I may be wrong, but I believe it was the xbox video app)

Any suggestions?

P.S. These new forums are awful. I honestly didn't think the xbox forums could get any worse, but they managed to get significantly worse this last update.

Blu-Ray Error Code 0002 "Needs Update"

I have the Blu-ray app downloaded but when I put a Blu-ray disc in it wont play and says the player needs an update to play the disc. How do you update the Blu-ray player?

Received preview version of Blu-ray app, but I'm not in the preview program

Hey, Delta. The Blu-ray app update is not a preview version. It is an update that was released to the general public. To enable 3D Blu-ray playback, you need this app update combined with the system update that is currently in Preview.

Hey Skridger! Are you having any issues using the Blu Ray app after its update? You may want to try a factory reset to see if that helps at all. You can start with the keep my games and apps option but if that fails you may want to move on to a full factory
reset. Steps can be found
here. Post back and let me know how it goes!

YCC was not enabled but, but color was, No updates for blu ray app. I am thinking it is the blu ray app as netflix on xbox outputs Dolby Vision without issue

I have the app fully updated, reset the console to default settings, cleared the blu ray app data, let the disc auto-play, played the disc manually, set the blu ray app to not remember the last played position, etc.

It just refuses to play certain blu rays, anybody else have Jojo Rabbit on blu ray and able to confirm the problem?

It is possible that this is related to the Blu Ray app and the recent updates it has received. I have also been experiencing weird issues with the Blu ray recently and no one at Xbox will acknowledge if there is a known issue with the Blu Ray player.

The latest update did not fix the playback issue with Game of Thrones Season 3 on Blu-Ray.

Some users may encounter the error that was causing the Xbox to not read the disc, again, even after updating the Blu-Ray player app.

To work around this, fire up the Blu-Ray app with no disc in your Xbox.

You'll be prompted that there is no disc in your drive.

Insert Game of Thrones season 3 blu-ray into your drive.
