Blu-ray app. issue

hello.

I'm currently experiencing an issue with playing movies on my xbox one through the blu-ray app. When i try to run a disk( dvd or BR ) there is no video after the initial blu-ray startup. I will see loading screens( like the death star spinning on rogue one)
and menu interfaces. I even hear the music from the movie, title screen, and other screens but no video during that time(such as paramount pictures video). All of the interfaces work just simply audio with no video playback.

i have tried all of the usual... Uninstalling, hard/soft reset, video setting changes like 24 hz on/off, different movies, and checking for updates.

i have looked around but haven't found any instances of resolution. Any thoughts?

Play videos on burned discs

I've put a disk in and none of the apps even see the optical blu ray drive let alone any media files on it. The blu ray player app does play media on a blu ray disk that is in the proper blu ray format, but VLC, or even the file explorer app do not even display the optical drive. I can play media on an external drive using VLC.

 

Xbox one bluRay audio problems. Help needed.

I've been having issues with my audio when playing blu ray's on the xbox one. It doesn't matter what disc I use or what audio source. No audio will play through my headset directly from the controller, or hooked up to my 4k tv. This all started several months ago when it would freeze and the audio will go out of sync with the picture. Netflix, vudu, and games are not affected. My asus montiors also supports hdmi sound and they dont work when the blu ray movie plays.
I just spent an hour with Xbox support and nothing they suggest had any effect on the issue. My xbox, unfortunately, is out of warranty.

Things i've tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the blu ray app.
switching the audio settings.
installing the app on both my internal and external.
using fiber optic sound cable through my mix amp.

The behavior is the same.

Could this be an issue with the blu ray player, a combination between the App and the device, or the App just being the worst app ever created on this planet?
