  1. Blu-ray app has not been working properly... for half a year now

    Hello forums,

When I load up a Blu-ray disc on my One, I get no video and only audio. The move plays and all, and when I press the Home button I am returned to the dashboard but with no video. If I restart the console with disc still inside, still, no video shows up.
I have to eject the disc to restore video. I am trying to watch Evangelion 2.22; I am disappointed because I have watched this movie and others on my console before, maybe a year and a half ago. I have performed a hard reset with power drain, the works. Still
no progress. I read online that restoring the system to factory default might pose as a fix, but there has to be another way - right?

    :)

  2. blu ray player stuttering

Just giving this thread a bump and any that are discussing this as it's now late September a month after the last reply to this and there has been an update to the bli-Ray app. Still stutters in parts along with an occasional audio static glitch sometimes
as well. Argh!!!! Why doesn't a blu-Ray player in this machine work properly? It's not even like its new tech now!!!

Not surprising ( update issue )

I just went onto my Xbox 1 console and downloaded the Update. Its installed an the Blu-ray App is now working properly! For some reason the past month, the Blu-ray app/my console, had trouble reading my Blu-ray movie disc. Now.... it can read it. Yay. It
use to be able to read it before they introduced the Windows 10 like UI to Xbox 1 for everyone. Well at least they fixed something. Xbox is a Microsoft product, and we all know how very often Microsoft provides Updates for their products, expect the next update
    soon or next month.

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try heading to Settings>Disc & Blu Ray then uncheck Enable BD Live and then clear the Cache 3 times and finally power cycle the console.

If that does not work for you then you may need to restore to factory.

You may have to try restoring to factory defaults but you needn't worry about the saves. They are stored both on the console and the Cloud. You'll still be able to access them.

If you feel you need to then try restoring and if that doesn't work you may need to see about sending the console in for a repair.

  7. Oh, okay. I will transfer my installs to an external and try a reset in the near future. I'll report back here on how it goes.

Blu-ray app distorts image when playing DVDs but Blu-ray is OK

Hurray!!! It works now. Apparently there was a recent update to the Blu-ray app, and now DVDs and Blu-rays play properly at 720p. Thanks for listening to this complaint and for the efforts from everyone involved.

Also, big thanks for Forza 6. It's much appreciated!
