Blu-ray app distorts image when playing DVDs but Blu-ray is OK

This sounds like an odd communication issue between your Xbox One and your TV, but it's odd that turning off auto-detect is still causing this issue. Can you get us a picture of what your video settings are all set to? Thanks!

Can you clarify the make and model of the television you're using currently?

Also, do you possibly have a friend with a TV you can test?

Super odd issue you're running into. Couple things to try, do you have a different HDMI cable you can test to see if perhaps it's sending a faulty display signal to your console? If not, can you try plugging your console into a different display port to
see if there's any change? Let us know

Persistent Storage for the Blu-Ray app and follow it up by Power Cycling your Xbox One three times in a row. Once you give that a try, please try playing a DVD again to see if there is any change with that. Also, if you haven't tried, please give another
HDMI input on your TV a try to see if that helps
