Blu-ray 50 Hz for North America?

With the recent update for Blu-ray 50 Hz video output support for content recorded at 50 Hz... does this mean my North American unit will play Blu-rays from Europe?

    :)

    50 Hz support

I really thought that the new april update would provide 50 Hz support for the blu-ray player app but 50 Hz still doesn't work properly on my console. If I change the video settings to 50 Hz then the screen goes black for a short moment and I am asked if
I would like to keep these settings. Until here everything works fine. When I look into the settings of my TV, the input signal is at 50 Hz. But when I press "yes" (in order to keep the new console settings), then the screen goes black again and the input
signal changes back to 60 Hz.

I also have to say that I never really had a problem while watching a blu-ray; but everytime I insert a DVD there is this really strong and unacceptable jerking (doesn't matter which DVD, none of mine works properly).

Why hasn't my Xbox One updated?

I believe it has been updated because I am seeing the 50 hz on my blu ray options and it looks like the friend notifications have appeared. I guess it auto updated during the night? *shrugs

Some TV`s in Europe supports only 50Hz, thats why they implement that. and i Think yes it should work if you have a Tv who supports it..

    Hi Gimper,

What Bhutankam Pema is true, providing your TV support 50Hz and you set the Xbox One to this setting you should not have any issues playing European blu-ray's as the console is region free.

50Hz is especially for European TVs, in the beginning (before the patch), X1 only sent out in 60Hz and Europeans got stutter on their TV

Heyo! I need to add a bit of clarification here.

Regardless of 50Hz vs. 60Hz, your console's Blu-Ray player is still region-encoded for International standards. The game discs are region-free.

For more information on region codes and how they affect your Xbox One console, check out our

    DDR3 vs DDR4 vs GDDR5

I agree Dark Destiny you look at the numbers and xbox 360 out sold PS3 2 to 1 in north america. And if not for blu ray it could have been a wider margin.
