    3d is supposed to be out this month so yes it should be any day now. Blu- Ray 3D & HDDVD :) I actually just bought the X1 last week in anticipation of the 3d.... If it works well enough then I will end up trading in my PS3.

    I've been using it. works great. and my X1 automatically puts my TV into 3D mode which is nice and takes it off if i switch to a game automatically. MS nailed it with this one

    I will be checking out the 3d by this weekend for sure. I watched a blu ray movie last night. It had a stutter once but other than that ran about as smooth as the PS3 blu ray player. I am going to experiment with it a couple more weeks before I decide
    if I am trading in my PS3.

    Blu- Ray 3D & HDDVD

    Finally had a chance to watch the 3d on the X1. I have a Sony Trinitron 3d HDTV with Sony glasses. When I first started watching I had MASSIVE problems. The glasses kept turning on and off every couple seconds which has never happened. So I tested them
    on the PS3 while I also had the X1 on and the same thing happened. To fix this problem I had to TURN OFF THE KINECT!!! As soon as I turned off the Kinect, the 3d glasses worked perfectly again. So strange but thankfully I figured it out.

    Hopefully that helps anyone else that has the same issue. If your glasses flicker on and off, turn off the Kinect.

    thats weird. I have a samsung 3dTV and no issues with the glasses at all. Sounds more like an issue with the glasses. I don't see how kinect could possibly effect the glasses. Kinect has an IR blaster so its possible it could interfere but then so could
    any other IR device such as a TV remote.

    i had the same issue with active 3d glasses till i realised i had to move my head every half hour or they switched off

    Apparently I'm not alone. My xbox one can't play 3D movies either. I'd insert a 3D blu ray and it'll only play in 2D. Very frustrating. Here's a link to my post on the issue: forums.xbox.com/.../2196911.aspx

    3D will die within the next few years. It will be like HDDVDs and Betamax. Wont stay, and just a gimmick. 3D adds nothing to a movie, or games, and is just a way to scam a few more bucks outta someone. HD, DVDs, Blu Rays, they will be around till the
    next big thing. 3D will die out in a few years.

    Putting HD-DVD in the Xbox One would be like buying a brand new high-end gaming PC and installing a floppy disc drive. Yeah, it may be nice to say it does everything, but you really don't need it and nobody would miss it that much.

    In the least rude way possible... If you're still clinging on to HD-DVD as a viable format over Blu-Ray, you need to reevaluate the risks you take in early adoption and move on. it's not like it ever even had a glimmer of hope, it was discontinued before
    half the world knew it existed.

    It sucks you can't watch 3D Blu-rays, esepcially since I and many people have 3D HDTVs just for that purpose... Other than that the missing feature the Blu-ray player in the Xbox One seems fine IMO.

    "Why is it not possible to use the HDDVD player on the Xbox One, that would make a lot of guys happy!" I just don't think that's true, it's a dead format. If you want to watch a dead format on a player which was made for the Xbox 360, keep your Xbox 360.
