blocking people

Discus and support blocking people in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; about a month ago I had 5 new gamer tags saying that they added me as a friend,nothing suspicious about that except they all popped up at the same time...     about a month ago I had 5 new gamer tags saying that they added me as a friend,nothing suspicious about that except they all popped up at the same time but each had a different date at which they added me aydin338 added me 14 weeks ago AtomicTiara6567 added
    me 12 weeks ago lewyboy 2002 added me 12 weeks ago SixCash998022 added me 9 weeks ago falcon5124 added me 9 weeks ago problem is I clean out my followers list every couple of hours but when I tried to remove them they just stayed in my followers list I can
    still remove new people but not these ones I have managed to get two of them to block me they have even blocked their friends list but I have access to their friends list and followers list I need these people gone so I can put my friends and my kids back
    on my friends list

    Servers blocking people cmon.

    Blocking someone only lessens the chances of being matched with that person,it does guarantee you wont be matched with them.

    It also means they can't communicate with you.

    Servers blocking people cmon.

    If I'm not mistaken, this was done in response to people abusing the system despite the blocked player not doing anything wrong.

    To ensure fair matching, the system does not repeat with same players which could cause the same players winning again and again.

    Yes but I do not want to block everyone but I nor do I want to receive messages from friends only. The purpose of LIVE is to be able to communicate with people, I just don't enjoy the sarcasm and hate filled messages when you beat someone in a game.

    You can change who you want the notification to appear in the settings.

    Thanks for the reply but no... not the case. I've tried everything . This is only a problem in the last few months and Xbox suggested they might have a bug in the system bc I even tried it with them. Anyone I block can continue to send me messages and
    it's beyond annoying ..

    Block another player

    Blocking another player prevents you from receiving that player’s messages, game invites, and party invites. It also prevents the player from seeing your online activity and removes them from your friends list, if they were on it.

    1. Press the Xbox button
      on your controller to open the guide.
    2. Select People, and then select the gamertag of the player you want to block.
      Note If the player is not on your friends list, select
      Recent players       or Find someone and enter the player’s gamertag to search.
    3. From the player's profile, select Report or Block, and then select
      Block.
    Mute or block another player
