Blocking messages on Xbox One

Is there anyway I can block messaging from people that are not on my friends list for Xbox One? I have been getting too many hateful messages after playing online and I am getting sick of it. Blocking individual players doesn't solve my problem.

Blocked but still getting their msgs?

I have had this done too many times in the past months and it is beginning to really piss me off. I block people who are just harassing me to be an asshole and i refuse to deal with any of it. But when i block people but still receive messages from them it makes me even more pissed off. What in the hell is the point of having the block people feature on Xbox One if it doesn't block them entirely?

I would also like an answer to is question. If i receive one more spam email about fifa ultimate team or cheap Live codes Im going to lose my mind. Seriously, i block and report everyone i get but theres at least three new spam messages everytime i sign
in? GET IT TOGETHER XBOX. I have looked through every single option in the settings menu and have come across nothing. Completely unnacceptable

Yes go to settings then privicty then coustom the messages and chatt hen click friends only

Hello!. You can follow the following steps to block unwanted messages

Block another player's messages on Xbox One

You can also block a player after receiving an offensive or inappropriate message.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then navigate to Messages.
Select the message conversation from the player you want to block.
Select More.
Select View profile card.
Select Block.

Just to make sure too, you're not messaging them after blocking them right? That would undo the block.

I believe blocking someone on Xbox one doesn't actually block their messages, i belive it just doesn't pop up like an achievement would, they are messaging me. If I go to bed wake up & see the messages are still coming in If so that is not blocking a profile.

The block only applies to communications such as messaging. The blocked player will not be able to send you messages, unless you first send a message to that player. However, a blocked player can still join games with you.

So remember, if you message that player, they will no longer be blocked.
