    I'm writing this post on behalf of a friend, her account for Microsoft has been locked a couple of weeks ago, she had no authenticator or the correct number connected to her account (She isn't really well versed in added protection on things). The questions they are asking she is able to answer correctly, I.E regarding emails she still has access to her emails so she is able to give exact wording for this. It asks for Xbox live ID which she has correct because it is her Xbox. Etc etc. So shes filled out the form a few times which got declined but now she isn't even receiving a reply, she has done it probably 3-4 times without a reply and now we're stuck on what to do. Is there no way to talk to someone at Microsoft to get this fixed? This is her account which she has had for years, she has spent a lot of money on buying games etc. Obviously the big kicker is the fact she has lost all her saves for all the games she plays. Any advice would be gratefully received!

    HI,

    Yes on the account recovery form it asks you these. You can find the live ID on your Xbox. Go to settings>system>console info the Xbox live device id is the one you are looking for. It will start with a FD.

    MICROSOFT BLOCKING ACCOUNTS!!

    The two step authentication is one of the best inventions microsoft uses to protect your account from being stolen. In times where every week a hacker group gets capable of thousands of userdata it is absolutely necessary to have additional security measures.
    Just checking for the IP is simply not working as you are not on the same IP all the time, except you use a static one provided by your ISP which is not usual.

    Remember, this kind of authenticationis only necessary when changing essential settings on your account, like payment methods, email adresses or passwords. So to say on items, where it is aboslutely important to verify it's you changing them.

    If you do not receive these codes you may have made a mistake in entering your phone number as I never had any issues in receiving these codes on my mobile.
