    This is ridiculous. I am trying to add the free XBL trial for my son's account, but am still getting the message. My son's profile appears to allow purchases, and my credit card info is current.

    Change your settings to allow purchases

    Your settings are blocking purchases of free or paid content. If you still want to buy this, first change your settings to allow purchases. Parents will have to change this setting for children.

    Hey there Triihard Pants. You may be block from making purchases if your payment info is wrong or expired you should go to the website and go into your account and click manage payments to make sure everything is alright. If everything
    looks alright then you may need to contact Xbox support and talk to the billing department. I hope this helps you have a great day.

    OK all I have a solution to this debacle. Log into the parent account. Select manage my privacy and online safety. Select the profile you are trying to purchase for. Select Xbox one online safety. Scroll to Buy and Purchase and select nothing. Hit save.
    Now go to the console, log in as parent and remove the profile you are purchasing for.Now go back to the PC and again select the profile you wish to purchase for. Scroll to Buy purchase and select anything. Hit save. Go back to the console stay logged in as
    the parent and reinstall your profile. Now try to purchase.

    The only other point worth noting is that when we reinstalled the profile we selected manual login to and not kenect login. It worked for us so with luck it will work for you.
