Blinking xbox one s screen found on my sfirst two xbox One S

My Samsung monitor has 4k 60hz through hdmi 2.0 ports. It's been working fine with my other console and pc. But the Xbox one s screen blinks on and off after it comes out of instant on or I try to adjust any video setting. It also will not let use or pick
10bit color even though my panel is 10 bit. No hdr for my monitor but it has 10 bit ability so not sure why it will only let meveryone use 8 bit.

The only temporary fix it have found is to boot from full shut down every morning. Since I have done this it hasn't happened again. But instant on is very useful for me being away from my home so much. I would like it to download all updates without me.
I called tech support and they state they are working on a fit. I'm just surprised that more info isn't out there about this.

I have the same panel if your referring to the U28E590D and even though it says 10bit color I am pretty sure its not a native 10 bit panel but only an 8 bit using a frame rate conversion to "hack" 10 bit.

Not saying this is the problem but might be part of your issue. Its also the reason this monitor wont support HDR, from what I am told.

 

Thanks Heisenberg for info on the 10 bit. Do you have the Xbox one S? Is yours doing the blinking thing?

 

I don't have it as of yet, cant bring myself to trade in my Forza edition, just not enough of an upgrade for me but having a hard time NOT running out and getting it.

 

Really wondering how you like the upscale for gaming on this monitor?

I really love this Samsung just getting the monitor alone was a nice upgrade coming from a cheapo 27" 1080p.

The colors are great for being a TN panel and the 1 ms response time I just love.

 

Upscaling is decent. I'm still changing settings and calibrating colors and black levels to bring out the most of it. Movies are everything they should be in 4k. The gaming brings a little bit more clarity and system is even better at fps surprisingly. I've
avoided my blinking issues by not going into instant on and it seems to have stopped the problem. But I really hope they fit it because I lIke my instant on. If you have a Xbox already I dont see the little differences meaning a bunch to you and your Forza
system especially with you already having some forms of upscaling from the Samsung monitor. So unless it's 4k movies you want to watch on your monitor don't bother.

 

have read it has to do with color settings on xbox. try adjusting them, even if your tv says something else

 

I don't know if it's the color options pick either because I have not problems with the system as long as I don't put it into stand by mode and I have 24hz , RGB full, and 4k picked the way I did when I first got my original one.

 

OK all...the issue is that the software inside the Xbox one S isn't capatible with Monitors at 4k. It doesn't matter how many times you take back the system, reset the system, or erase the hard drive. I took back my monitor and got a 4k TV with HDR and every
box under 4k details are checked but 50hz which doesn't apply to tvs in America. You will need HDR 4k to truly take advantage of all that the Xbox one S can do and you will again need a TV not a monitor to do this. Otherwise you are going to get errors, flashes,
blinking, and 1080p instead of 4k at times. Don't waste time like I didid trying to avoid the truth. I tried to stick to Monitors but for Consoles TVs I guess win out for this one.

samsung never lied about anything. don't think the monitor has 2.2 hdcp for 1 thing.
