    I just got home after a long day and i turned on my xbox and it loaded up fine . Got on a game and after i clicked on an option to load in the game the screen went completely black and got stuck there . I could hear the background just couldnt see anything
    . Ive tried the hard reboot by holding the button for 10 seconds and then the low resolution boot and still nothing happened . I read somewhere if you let the xbox sit while its on itll come back on eventually im going on 10+ minutes now . Idk whats going
    on can somebody help out orrrrrrr do i have to take my xbox to a microsoft store or best buy ?

    Please try the following steps:

    1. Go to settings / blu ray and erase the permanent storage.

    2. Perform a system cache reset. Keep the powerbutton for about 15 seconds. Keep it holding even when the one turns off. Wait for the power supply to change the color to orange and then restart the console.

    Check if that solves your problem or if it occurs again.

    Afraid it didnt help. It seems to be addressing a screen freeze situation, not a blank screen, which is my problem

    oh ok. my polaroid tv doesn't seem to recognise the hdmi input either. maybe contact panasonic.

    its the hdmi cable that im having trouble with which doesnt have a switch. do you mean the switch thats on the older cable what comes with the xbox? thanks

    My controller does connect, but it does not make any noise, even when I waited.
