Blank screen when I turn xbox on

anyone have any trouble with turn on xbox then green screen with the logo. After that the screen goes blank and can't do anything with it. Have sent it back to get repaired .how long does this take?

HELP!!! BLANK SCREEN WHEN XBOX 360 TURNS ON

Hello,

Everytime I turn on my xbox 360 I am presented with a blank screen on startup. Everytime this happens, I am forced to manually reset my console by overheating it, I wait 5 minutes, then when I start back up my console and then the startup screen appears
as normal. I have only used this method maybe 4 times max, although I have had a period of not being able to play my xbox for several months because of this problem.

This makes me think that there isnt a problem with the cable in which I am using, neither the TV as I have tried various cables and TV's and still end up with the same result.

I Have read the solutions on the xbox website, but it doesn't take into account this issue.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

P.S. It is the first generation xbox 360 if that will help.

It's NEVER a good idea to overheat your console.

It sounds like you need a
repair, although considering that you have a first gen console you'd probably be better off just buying a newer model. Some retailers like Gamestop will even accept broken consoles for trade in. If you do decide to send it in you should set up the repair
online rather than by phone as you will save $20 doing it that way.

There is one thing you can try first.

Reset the console display settings.

1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.
2. Turn off the console.
3. Turn on the console.
   Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left
   light illuminated.
   
4. As the console starts, on the controller, press and hold Y while pulling RT. The display settings are reset to the default settings, and then the console automatically restarts.
