Blank Screen when I play a game.

Today, I tried to play COD: BO2 and the Xbox recognized it, but when I start up the game, my screen almost instantly goes black. I thought maybe it was just taking a bit long to load, but it started taking way too long and I could tell that my Xbox wasn't
processing any information because it wasn't making its usual noise when I start a game. I tried unplugging my Xbox and rebooting it. I've checked all my cables and I even switched games, but still it was the same every time. Also, after I start a game and
the screen goes black, I can press the home button on the remote and the dashboard thing will come up. I tried pressing Y to go back to my home screen and when it says "Are you sure you want to go home, the game will quit, etc.?", I click Yes and then the
system and screen freezes. Another thing I can do while on the blank screen is sign out and then when I try to sign back in, there is an error code: 80004004. I will look into that code, but one last thing that is weird is that on the home screen under Games
and TV & Movies, the two boxes on the far right above All Recommendations don't load. They continuously have the loading symbol in their place. If you know what the problem is, please help. I haven't seen any other forums with this same problem so I don't
know what's wrong or how to fix it. BTW, I have an Xbox 360 Slim 250 GB if that helps. Thanks.

Whenever I try to Load A Game Or App It Won't Go To It It'll Be Blank But I'll Be Able To Push The Guide but then When I Dashboard It It Freezes Please Help This Is Annoying Please n Thanks

This is happening to me right as we speak. Worked fine this morning and now every time I select play game or netflix it's straight to a black screen. Guess no one in here can solve this.

 

i have the exact same problem. just started now. im searching more and more and ive found alot of people with the same issue in the last few hours.. im starting to think xbox did something by mistake...

 

I hope so because I really don't want to buy another console. I already have this 360 and the one, but all my games that I love and still play are on the 360.

Found a way around it haha! Sign out, turn off xbox, turn on xbox, start game and then sign in. Worked for me! Hope it works for everyone else...!!!

 

I have the same problem now. It seems like all these complaints are recent. I turned off my internet router and then restarted the xbox. This time, I could play a game. That makes me think it's a problem with Live and we'll just have to wait for microsoft
to fix it.

 

Trying to play gta 5 same thing. Tried black ops 2 didn't work so I cleared my system cache and black ops 2 worked but not gta 5 but when I tried to play black ops again it didn't work same black screen. I dunno

 

Hey! It works again! It must have just been a problem with Live. I hope that's what it was.

 

It was an issue with the Live service.

Hey, I figured out a work around if you are using an ethernat cable

1) Unplug the Ethernet cable

2) Boot up the game/app you want to play.

3) Once the game is booted plug back in the Ethernet cable and sign in.

Microsoft I suggest you fire some of your support they were no help at all
