Blacksmith and Jeweler training...

I'm currentyl playing the RoS version of Diablo 3 and both the blacksmith and jeweler are both at level 10. It's now asking for ingrediants to further level each one up. Can anyone tell me what I need and where I might be able to find them, please? Thank

Training the Blacksmith

Yes, once you get the pages and use those to train your blacksmith, it's going to get to the point where you will need blacksmith tomes to further upgrade your blacksmith level.

These tomes are books, instead of pages.

By the time you get to the level where you need the tomes to increase his level further, look in the armor part of the blacksmith crafting, you'll notice in the items, that you can actually craft the tomes yourself. Blacksmith and jewel tomes.

It takes ten pages to craft one tome.

the last two blacksmith levels, 9 and 10 requires secret tomes. at blacksmith level 8, you can actually craft the secret tomes.

to craft a secret tome, you need 5 blacksmith tomes and 5 jewel crafting tomes. That's 50 blacksmith pages and 50 jewel pages to create ONE secret tome.

Just last night, I got my blacksmith up to level ten, after about 20+ hours of grinding for those pages. And this mourning, I got my jewel to level ten. Now I can create those star gems, which are the best gems.

 

Jeweler vs. Blacksmith Pages

I started Nightmare last night and am already frustrated with drop rates!



Why are the Jeweler pages rates less than Blacksmith - even though you need the former pages to create Perfect gems ... and beyind?!
Smart thinking Blizzard! (sarcasm there if you didn't catch on it!)



Is there any way to get a better drop rate? Does Magic Find effect it? Or co-op?



Or do I need to wait until I get to get to higher levels?

I don't play Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition because I don't like the way that Blizzard went " nerf happy " with the original game instead of simply just adding the Reaper Of Souls expansion. Personally, I think that Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition is garbage
because of all of the nerfing. But, all of the new content is absolutely amazing and I wish that I could play them

However, I don't think that they changed the way that upgrading your Jeweller & Blacksmith works.

Enemies will randomly drop the " Gem Plans " for the Jeweller. The same thing applies to the Blacksmith, but I forgot what the stuff are because my Jeweller and Blacksmith have been fully upgraded for a long time already.

I have been playing Diablo 3 vanilla (I love this game) ever since it came out and I still play it a lot to this very day

I just wanted to let you know that your " Magic Find % " has absolutely no effect on the drop rates of the Jeweller and Blacksmith upgrade stuff.

The method that I used was to set the game difficulty to such a level in which you could quickly plow through the enemies. Because the faster the enemies die, the more chances you get to roll for a potential Jeweller and Blacksmith upgrade stuff

It's funny, after I posted this, my friend and I started to play it again on hard and some the harder enemies dropped death's berath ingrediant needed to further level up the blacksmith and jeweler. Clearly there are some changes from the original and RoS.

Some changes had to be made because in Diablo 3 vanilla, there were 4 difficulty settings...

Normal = Enemy levels range from 1 to 27

Nightmare = Enemy levels range from 27 to 47

Hell = Enemy levels range from 47 to 57

Inferno = Enemey levels range from 57 to 65

Each difficulty setting dropped a different Jeweller / Blacksmith upgrade. Now, since the enemies in Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition are always the same level as the player; the appropriate adjustments had to be made but are still acquired the same way (random
drops).

On a side note, I don't want to bore you with all of the details & here are some quick comparisons of the differences from both versions of this game...

(1) Diablo 3 UEE has enemies always the same level as the player & Diablo 3 vanilla works as posted in the previous post.

(2) Life Steal isn't in Diablo 3 UEE but it is in Diablo 3 vanilla. Simply put, you gain life back based on the amount of damage that you inflict. When you inflict 400k of damage to one enemy, you get 26k life back if you have 6.5% Life Steal.

(3) Diablo 3 UEE features reworked skills / abilities due to the removal of Life Steal. So, a skill / ability in Diablo 3 vanilla works completely different in Diablo 3 UEE. Some skills / abilities were outright removed and then replaced with something
new.

(4) Diablo 3 UEE punishes you if your friends die because the monster that killed your friend will randomly appear in your game to kill you too. So, if your friends die a lot, you're game will constantly be interupted by these random invaders called "Nemesis".
Diablo 3 vanilla doesn't have this.

(5) Diablo 3 UEE allows the player to distribute points for each Paragon Level that they gain & the level 100 cap has been removed; you gain +3% Magic Find / Gold Drop in Diablo 3 vanilla. This is the only positive thing that I like with the "re-worked
core mechanics".
