Black screen

Sorry if I'm asking a common question but I couldn't find any other posts.

So, I was playing on my xbox one this morning, I think I just read a message I received, then turned the console off using the controller while the message was on the screen. After 20 minutes, I unplugged the it and took it downstairs. I turned it back on
but after the green xbox screen appeared, it just stays black with no xbox symbol on the top right. I looked on youtube for help but leaving my finger on the on/off switch for 10 seconds or holding for 30 when it's unplugged hasn't worked.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Black Screens...

Video proof...or it didn't happen.

People who claim to see black screens can't tell the difference between a real black screen and a lag black screen.

Just because you get a black screen, doesn't man that better players get black screens.

Maybe you get a black screen because you can't play as well as you think you can.

I've olny ever seen a black screen once and that was ages ago when the game was newly released.

343/Microsoft will detect black screens and ban them.

Black screens are only seen from your xbox's point of view.

I am getting black screen after update on x360,let set ,unstalled,reinstalled still black screen ????

Yep, did that too. And tried it again, still nothing.

I know when mine did it I had to send it off for repairs. Took like 25 days before I got it back.

yea mine did it too just got it back yesterday. you can hear sounds but no picture.

They might make you pay for shipping other than that as long as it's under warranty which it should be its free

 

Thanks pkvas, I bought it last October so yes, still under warranty.

 

Well you won't have to pay for repair they will send you shipping labels and off on its voyage it goes !! Before that though I would try taking it back where you got it from and you never know your luck they might just swap it over for you !

 

i've heard a black screen happen to me a few times, each time i just had to unplug and plug back in the HDMI cable on my receiver and it came back.

i've seen some people use the offline software update tool and were able to recover the console, don't know if i'd suggest that if your console is still under warranty, safest bet would be to send it in.

 

Dont own an X1 but for those who may know better than I.

Wasnt their a thread about goint to a xbox support link and dl to a thumbdrive something which would reboot the x1 system and somehow fix this sorta problem?
