Black screen

Warning. This will be a bit of a read.

Today I tried to play several different games but it instantly just goes to a black screen. I can open up the xbox guide and still be in party chat but I cannot go back to xbox home without the screen freezing. resulting in having to restart my xbox. I even
tried going to change my avatar and got the black screen again.

So after going online and reading some suggestions to fix this, I cleared my cache and deleted my profile. Only now my profile wont download and gives me this error code: 807B01F7 , saying profiles cant be downloaded right now, to try again later.

Also, I cant even view my profile on the xbox live website either.

I guess am just going to wait it out, But if anyone knows of why this might be happening it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Black Screens...

Video proof...or it didn't happen.

People who claim to see black screens can't tell the difference between a real black screen and a lag black screen.

Just because you get a black screen, doesn't man that better players get black screens.

Maybe you get a black screen because you can't play as well as you think you can.

I've olny ever seen a black screen once and that was ages ago when the game was newly released.

343/Microsoft will detect black screens and ban them.

Black screens are only seen from your xbox's point of view.

Let's go ahead and try these steps one more time and see if they can help. Please post if these steps help or not below as well. Thanks!

1). Clear your cache

2). Redownload your profile

**Now test again, if the issue persists, please try steps 3 & 4**

3). Remove and re-connect your hard drive

4). Delete any game/app causing this issue and any DLC associated for that game on the hard drive and then redownload said content again

Hi all,

As we continue to look in to this issue, we have found a good amount of success with performing these steps in this specific order. Let's go ahead and all try this out and see if it is able to help.

1). Power cycle the console (turn the console off and back on)

2). Clear the system cache 3 times in a row

3). Power console off, remove all USB accessories, Memory cards, Kinect (if attached) and
hard drive, then try launching a disc-based game that does not require hard drive

4). If still failing, remove the profile ONLY (do not delete items associated
with your profile when asked) and then re-download the profile

If this does not help resolve the issue though, please provide the following info for us to pass along to the proper teams:

1). What model console and hard drive you are using? (ex: S model with a 250GB HDD, Original model console with a 20GB HDD, etc.)

2). When did you first notice this behavior? (ex: 7-29-2014 at 3:30PM EST)

3). What games/apps have you recently downloaded around the same time this issue started occurring?

we have had this all weekend to with both consoles and so are my friends.. wtf xbox.. pay for xbox live and cant even use it..

If you are still experiencing the black screen issue, I would suggest checking out this sticky and following the troubleshooting steps provided.

If those steps aren't doing the trick, please make a new thread indicating the issue you may be experiencing with as much detail as possible, as well as, any troubleshooting steps you may have already tried.
