Black screen when XBOX turns on my TV. Works after I turn it off and on everytime.

Ever since the update any time I say "XBOX ON" or simply turn it on with my controller, my TV turns on but stays on a black screen. Before the update when I said XBOX ON it worked perfectly. The XBOX would turn on and so would my TV. Now when I do it
my TV turns on but stays black. I know it is on because the red light is on indicating so. When I turn it off and then on again the TV works as it should. This is extremely frustrating. Any ideas?

xbox and dish problem

So hooked up my dish network box to Xbox one and it worked perfectly till I shut Xbox off. When I turned it back on cable won't work I say watch TV and it loads a black screen so iI unplug my Xbox one plug back in it loads fine but then I turn it off again
and back on and boom when I try to watch tv it is just a black screen I've waited 20 min to see if it would load and bothing I've called support and no answers...anyone got an idea...everything else works right 100% of the time. It just sux to have to unplug

My 4K HDR Movie doesn't work!

I have Deadpool on 4K Blu Ray and everytime I turn on HDR and watch the movie I only get sound and a black screen. I have a Vizio P series TV btw and yes I have HDMI Color Sub Sampling on. Movies works fine if I turn off HDR on the Xbox.

 

I should clarify that when I say turn it off and then on again I am talking about my TV, not the XBOX ONE.

Also please reboot your console: With the console on, press and hold the power button on the console for 5-8 seconds until it shuts off. Unplug the power supply, wait about 30 seconds and then plug it in and reboot. You should see the green splash screen
upon reboot. It may take a minute to boot all the way to the home screen. If you did not see the green Xbox splash screen, please redo it.

do as BusGod says. I had the same issue after the patch. A system reset fixes the issue.

 

I have done all suggested options and still the same result. The only way for me to see what my xbone is doing is to turn off the tv and turn it on again after I turn on the console. I have unplugged it, Reset it, used different HDMI cables, changed
inputs on the TV and nothing works. None of this happened until after the update.

 

I'm having the same issue and while rebooting does fix it temp it does happen again and again. This needs to be fixed in the March update.

 

The only option I see is to restore to factory defaults and I am not willing, nor should I have to do that right now. Especially when it takes an hour or two to play a game after you first insert the disc. Very disappointed.

 

Chewee....try to change your settings in your console from Auto Detect HDMI to HDMI

I tried changing the settings from Auto Detect HDMI to HDMI and that did not work.

 

What about if you switch your console to energy saving mode?

Have you tried that?

I know it's not ideal but if it works that might be the best option until Microsoft fixes the issue in the next system update.

 

How do you switch it to energy saving mode? I don't see how that would make a difference though.

Well the last update fixed my problem only to create a new one lol. Anytime my console is on standby for a few hours it and I try to turn it on, whether it be by voice command, controller or pressing the power button it will not turn one. The power button
will flash slowly for a couple minutes and then it will shut all the way down. When I turn it back on it will start up and work just fine. Very frustrating.
