    The last time it was properly work was atleast 2 weeks ago, there was an update a few days before but it worked after for a few days not a problem. I have an Xbox one COD Advanced Warfare 1TB edition and to be honest for the past 2 years it’s only be used for netflix, Amazon prime and YouTube to watch stuff in the bedroom. 2 days ago my little man wanted to watch something on Netflix and when turning it on I got the green Xbox screen and then a black screen with ‘hi Jason’ which normally has the usual menu.

    I have tried soft resetting with holding the Xbox button for 10 seconds till it turns itself off twice, unplugging for 5 minutes and holding the Xbox button and the eject button for 2 beeps. Also tried with holding both buttons until the box start freaking with every button making a noise but it’s came to no success!!

    (If I hold the Xbox button on the controller it brings up the usual menu ‘restart’ ‘turn controller off’ and ‘Xbox off’ so leads are completely fine)

    Any ideas for getting the Xbox back to square one, don’t mind losing all game info that is on it just to be used for some quality entertainment on streaming sites would be ideal lol

    How are you, mate?
    Do this command and see if a screen with 4 options appears for you. Before running the command remove everything connected to the console and just leave the power cable and the HDMI cable.

    Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
    Press and hold the BIND button (located below the Xbox button on the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.

    Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.

    Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

    Then select ''reset'' and then keep games and app.
    You won't miss a thing but you will need to go through the initial setup and log your accounts into the console.

    Also I know… just get a **** smart tv for the bedroom, but I just can’t let go of my childhood 62” **** tv, the quality off the thing is next to nothing with the Xbox. So rather than biting the bullet and tossing the Xbox and the TV. If there was a small chance the two could connect together again in great harmony I will try anything(most things Xbox related and actual solutions) lol

    Sorry about that. Have you tried performing a power cycle or resetting your console from the Xbox troubleshooter page?
