Black screen when I turn on my Xbox 1

When I power on my Xbox 1 I get the green Xbox logo screen then it turns black. While on the black screen I see it login to my account like it always does, it says welcome and my name. Then it just stays black. I can press and hold the Xbox button on the controller and it brings up the screen where I can disconnect the controller, turn off the controller, or turn off the console. But I do not get off the black screen. I tried to do a start in low resolution by holding down the power button and the eject button. But it still just sits on the black screen. What can I do to fix this? Or do I need to take it in somewhere to be fixed?

So the first thing we need to do is check and see if you can bring up the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. Try doing this for me:

Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in. Press and hold the SYNC button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console. Continue holding the SYNC and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the SYNC and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

When the console powers up, you will see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. Please select reset then keep games and apps. No worries, no games will be removed, just sign back in using the right account.

Hi Jason1612,

try this:
- Power cycle:

Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
Plug the console power cable back in.
Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.
P.S.: This solution can help you but may be temporary. If you still encounter the Xbox One black screen issue, you can try the following solutions to fix the issue: set the Console to Offline Mode then reboot; switch off Allow 24Hz on Video option.

- Perform an offline system update;
- Reset your console to factory defaults then you can easily sync your game saves .

Also my Xbox 1 light started blinking when I turn it off, and now when I turn it on I'm getting a black screen and then error code 0x81c201c3.

I've had the console for about a year and a half.

Extra information.

When turning on my tv, I have a blue screen which says no signal (this is normal) but when I turn my xbox on, it flicks between this blue screen and a black screen really quick
